Dear Omar have visited Germany twice first in April 1999 and later in January 2000 for two-weeks each time for Press Freedom workshops. Never been to France, just saw French territory from the outskirts of Geneva, Switzerland.
In Germnay we traveled in a group by a luxury bus from Gummersbach, a scenic mountain town near Cologne to Saxony Anhalt and to Berlin. The road journies too were exciting.
While in Gummersbach had an opportuinity to ride a custom made Jaguar on Autobhan at 270-280 km/hr. It was the ride of my life.
Germany is really a developed country and has made a lot of progress since World War II, like rest of the Europe.
But I have not seen a country as developed as Japan. Though in Asia, it is an amazing place. Tokyo no doubt is the most advanced and hi-tech cities of the world. It's my favourite cities and I would love to go back their.
Why can't we have same things in our beloved Pakistan? Well exactly that was the question I have been asking myself in Japan, Germany, Italy, Holland and Switzerland, even Thailand and Philippines. But have no answers. Perhaps we cannot have them here in our lifetime. So sad.
