for a nation which has lost all values that were imparted by the jinnah's, it seems very foolish to ponder over restoring their cars JUST because they belong to Fatima Jinnah....if they are being restored for that sole reason, because she used them I think we need to start by trying to actually live up to the ideal that was Pakistan and try to live up to their dream that later turned into hope and which now is the basis of our existence
being pakistani's we are inherently emotional and we place our pride in stupid matters....Fine these are old cars and deserve to be looked after, belonging to the pioneers of our nation is no doubt a plus and an honour, but in a time where we lack their basic teachings and their vision I believe it is hypocrisy trying to preserve just their cars...why not start with something that can make our country a better place...a restoration of doing good towards our country perhaps?
Idealistic am I? A lot of you might say that...some may even call this blasphemy of sorts but i would disagree....To instigate change one needs to be an idealist...it is along the path that one discovers that life and the people around you might not share what you share..and you need to change your game plan accordingly..
The cars are a handful to say the least..given the club has the money, time is an important pre-requisite that the members of the club would not have....if started now, i think it would be an easy 5-6 year restoration for both the cars...once started I believe alot of people will criticize the club for taking too long and for things that might tantamount to accusations that some of the members want to "take over" the cars....knowing how our impatient people think...i can almost bet that this will happen..
If anyone finds my views offensive, might i request that I be left to my opinion as it is mine alone and is not being forced upon anyone else.
