Feedback required for buying Honda BR-V i-VTEC S (2021)

Hi All,

I live in Lahore and have been using 1000 CC hatchbacks since 2007 including Suzuki Khyber 1997, Toyota Vitz 2004 and currently Daihatsu Boon 2013. As my family needs are growing although we are 5 members (two adults and 3 kids i.e. 9 to 14 years) but many times I have additional 1-2 passengers with me which I have been somehow accommodating in Daihatsu Boon (thanks to front sofa seat ) but now I think its time to consider a bigger car and first option comes to my mind is Honda BR-V.

I need the new car to very well serve the following needs:

1. I have been used to automatic / CVT transmission so will stick to it
2. I have always been inclined towards the cool features in the cars
3. I regularly visit northern areas with family mostly 5 family members but sometime 1-2 additional passengers. I have been used to drive 1000 CC in northern areas and it has been a pain while climbing steep hills
4. I keep exploring remote destinations in Pakistan but 1000 CC has its limits in terms of power, luggage, comfort for accompanying passengers etc.
5. I will keep my Daihatsu Boon for local city movement and use new car mostly when there are more passengers, more luggage or when going out of Lahore
6. I can't exceed my budget from 3.5 million

What I am looking for from the respected group members is:

1. Does Honda BR-V iVTEC S variant is the right car for the above needs? especially comfort and performance on long distances and hilly areas with 5-7 average passengers?
2. I will go for a brand new car (2021 model) so what is the delivery time in Lahore?
3. Is it worth waiting for some more time because new cars are entering Pakistani market but I am unsure will there be a bigger car in the similar price range?
4. What additional amount needs to be spent on the brand new car to get best out of it? for example changing tires?
5. What is best dealership in Lahore especially for after sale services?

I heard that there are Facebook and WhatsApp groups for Honda BR-V so can someone please share their links as well.

Sorry i saw your post now. you may have purchased a car by now. see reply below pointwise

1. so buy cvt.
2. no special feature in brv
3. i have purchased brv manual and it easily went to murree , patriata and bhurban with 7 persons (relatives). but i don't know how the cvt will fare.
   Also i have to climb chilas to babusar top so maybe in august / sept when i may visit hunza then i will be able to definitely praise the brv.
4. As mentioned above i have visited murree , patriata and bhurban and did not find brv lacking
   1 A. Yes that is right. it is large and comfortable.
   2A. i got manual within 2 days of handing over the payorder.
   3A Yes new cars are entering and the best shot is Glory 1.5 turbo, but at 38 lacs minimum it is quite a bit more expensive than brv. Also after sales / spare parts problem is really possible , while brv is a market car. Another point in glory 580 in indonesia it is currenlty being sued for not being able to climb inclines with 3-4 persons specially when the car is stopped on incline.
5. if you buy brv manual cost would be 32.5 lacs, then registration charges etc.
   other than that you need to buy navigation (67 thousand), seat covers plus floor cover plus floor mats plus boot cover (about 15,000) .
   5 . There isnt much space in the wheel wells of brv so increasing height of tires is not recommended and also i found the general tires quite well so you don't really need to change it.

let me know what you have done, whether you have purchased the brv or not .

check out glory too , it has lots of space in the third row also , if only it didn't have the hill climb and spare parts problem, i would have been its first customer

Just checked out the video of Glory, The last row seats are comfortable more than the brv but unfortunately the leg room is lacking, and you have problems fitting your feet .

only chance is when the second row seats pull their seats forward then can the last row person be seated comfortably.

one may think that glory is quite a bit lengthier than brv but where has the length gone to ?

I think most of it has been taken up by the bonnet (where the engine is) as compared to brv it is quite a bit more larger than brv.

So right now i have changed my mind about buying glory and will in sha allah stick to brv
