secondly, I wonder how do people even run these machines in pakistan, given the poor local fuel quality and the fact that they wouldn't take anything less than 98 octane...

do you seriously expect the owner to give the car a bootfull in such overly congested traffic conditions while also having to cope with the erratic driving patterns - with cyclists and pedestrians only adding to the problem, not to mention those poor roads, and then put his prized possession at risk? I don't think so...

My point exactly. He can't, and thus the point of driving such a car in those circumstances totally defeats the purpose of the car's existence. Why is he doing that? If he has to go somewhere, wouldn't another car be MUCH more suitable, assuming he must at least a score more vehicles at his disposal?

Hence, the conclusion cannot to be very flattering to the driver's/owner's intellect. May be I am still missing something?

has it occurred to you that some colours might not be popular among and/or as attractive to prospective buyers and hence command a relatively lower price? I seriously doubt anyone would want a maroon sportscar, well unless they are of a certain age (the company just doesn't offer them for no reason anyway)... and in case he really wanted to differentiate his car from the other two red ones (not sure if they are still there), he could have instead gone for a yellow.. which is a pretty sick colour in its own right... and then should have painted the wheels black.. boy, what a combination would that have been..!

and secondly, it's not always about the potholes, it's about the texture/composition of the road surface too... by and large, roads in pakistan are quite slippery (poorly engineered and built.. they just can't seem to get the ratio of the constituents right I guess) and so, not very favourable to speeding generally... remember, you have to brake once in a while too?

the roads are slippery no doubt i've noticed that especially in the middle of the day when the heat is at its peak BUT if i was buying a supercar and saving a big chunk of money just because of an ugly color I would do it!

Every now and then he will find open space on the road and he will floor it. The feeling and experience at that time would be worth all the trouble.

1. you can show it off : And there you have it. There is so much more to ownig and driving a Ferrari, but here, mere showing it off is sufficient? Why are we supposed to be impressed with that?

No one should be bothered how he drives the car on the lahore roads,what's the use of this car in pakistan,how is he gonna service etc etc these are irrelevant questions.

It's the guy's own cash(easy earned or hard earned)we are no one to judge.he can do whatver and buy watever he wants from it and use it as he likes.

there are people who can afford alot more but they choose not to show off. having such a vehicle is a dream for most of us,.. but as Vcheng said,... what's the point?

i say let the owner enjoy it,... it's his money, he can't take it to his grave. ut it could have been put to better use (like setting up a scholarship or something for someone who desperately needed it). but if he's worked hard for the cash, he might as well enjoy it to the max (in his own country)
