anyways PAF ordered Saab 2000 - AWACS (received one) and recently ordered chinese awacs. perhaps some details are given in previous pages.

Brazil Approves Sale of 100 Missiles to Pakistan

BRASILIA - Brazilian authorities Dec. 2 gave approval for the sale of 100 missiles to Pakistan which can be used in air-to-surface attacks on radar tracking installations, Defense Minister Nelson Jobim said.

The MAR-1 medium-range missiles made by the Brazilian firm Mectron are tactical anti-radiation weapons whose existence was kept under wraps for many years, according to Jane's Information Group...

I find our love of the military (any military) to be sad. We're so lost in the military industrial complex that we cant even recognize our problems.

Pakistan is a beautiful country with a population that has great potential. Unfortunately our self-serving civilian and military leaders insist on spending 30%+ of our national budget on killing machines instead of learning machines.

Indian and Pakistani army leaders have made a fool of their people by heightening tensions between the two countries. We have seen them purposely lie about terrorism so they can scare their citizenry and legitimize their publicly funded luxuries and get more and more kickbacks from weapon contracts.

It is not in the either military's interest for peace because the day there is peace is the day they lose their jobs. The military leadership is just as corrupt as our civilian leaders.

I have a question and you are not obligated to answer it if it is a matter of National Security. Does the bogie data from AWACS in PAF inventory gets transmitted to all airborne engaging platforms automatically or a ground controller has to intervene?

That reminded me off an interview of Mullah Omar firstly aired on Radio..Then published on the net!!He exactly said the same; If we would've succeeded in vanishing the drug mafia from Afghanistan then UN anti-narcotics division would've lost their jobs...and various other similar words !!
Ill try to find it you for you guys!!

You are right if things are seen from the outside of shell. When you are inside the shell then these things ''unfortunately'' makes you feel good.

Serial production of JF-17 aircraft to start soon

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) would soon start serial production of JF-17 Thunder in collaboration with China, Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Defence Production was informed on Thursday.

About other projects being carried out by PAC, he said facility had been overhauling around 180 engines of various fighter jets and 60 aircraft a year. He also said the Mirage Rebuild Factory, which is a part of PAC has been rebuilding 35-year old Mirage aircraft, which were bought as scrap from various countries.

Pakistan seeks F-16 jets from US

Pakistan has asked the US to meet the requirements of its armed forces, especially the supply of F-16 combat jets.

The US is currently in the process of supplying 12 used F-16 jets to Pakistan for its role as a "major non-NATO
ally". Pakistan also had plans to buy 36 new F-16s worth USD 5.1 billion but reduced its order to 18 jets after the
devastating 2005 earthquake in Kashmir brought on a financial crunch.

It was not immediately clear if Mukhtar wanted the US to supply the refurbished F-16s or he had sought more new
jets.

In August last year, the US approved the delivery of 20 P-37 jet trainer aircraft to Pakistan. The US is providing
the used aircraft free of cost to Pakistan, which will only have to bear shipment costs.

The US also released USD 116 million last year to finance mid-life upgrades for Pakistan's aging fleet of F-16.
