So here I am sharing my experience with this "reputed" company selling lubricants and filters.

I have been visiting their Gaddafi stadium branch for engine oil and filters for my toyota passo. One day, while I was passing by Montgomery Road, I decided to take this opportunity to buy passo AC filter from their head office. I was informed that I can show the receipt to their Qaddafi stadium branch and they will install it as they don't offer services at head office. Anyhow at next oil change branch also installed the filter.

Month later my mechanic told me that their is a problem with AC filter and he does not want to take it out. I visited gaddafi stadium and asked them to clean but only found that their head office sold me wrong AC filter and techician at the branch dragged that filter into the cabin obviously knowing that it is not the right size. My mistake, I should have been standing on his head while he was doing the job. Supervisor knows me and asked me to go to the head office with the receipt and they will replace. Who expects a customer will still have the receipt!

Luckily, I had the receipt and showed to head office (to young boy who was said to be one of the owners of filter house). I was sent back to Gaddafi stadium with a note that they will replace with the correct filter. I was back, they tried a couple of filters and said that they don't have right size and that i should go back again to head office. Later I found that one of the filters they said is not the right size was the proper size and they just want me to give up after going back and forth between head office and branch.

Now with the intention of teaching them the lesson, I was at filter house Lahore's head office Montgomery road. Told the salesman and he brought the filter and took one last chance to fleece me by asking me to pay Rs. 1,250. When they saw my intentions, owner jumped in and asked the salesman to install in my car. It was the same AC filter that their Gaddafi stadium branch said is not the fit size but it fit nicely at their head office. They even did not return the price difference, I paid 1,850 for the wrong size.

After all this "khawari" I concluded that they never expected that I will have the receipt after a month and that they made me visit twice at their headoffice and at their branch was that i may stop demanding my right.

I am wondering, are we Muslims? A big company like "FILTERHOUSE LAHORE" has such a small brain of risking their reputation for just Rs. 1,850???? It is just because they don't think that a person will spare 10 minutes to bring this out to the public.

Please speak out similar incidences and help each other. They and other will start focusing on customer service!

Exactly, this is the right size. What is the brand of 250 rs filter? The one Filter house gave me is their own brand costing rs 1,250.

i forgot the brand, installed about an year ago, now i will open it to clean some day, then will check the brand.

They have set up an empire by selling filters, they are not bothered if they loose a customer.

Lesson; Its a simple DIY process, secondly do check price from another source while purchasing.

Yes u r rite..th6 dont bother..this is the prb..wen a shop becomes popular thy give very little importance to customer care / service..thy knw ppl wud come anyway..

Absolutely. This is our mentality to do business. A customer is lost for which they will not feel an impact as reputation will give another customer. But they will not realize that they are running in circles. "Saeth jee" will send his son abroad and will expect a push in business but mentality will remain unchanged.

We can bring about a change by exposing these "saeth".

Here in the absence of strong consumer control authority and awareness of their rights by general public, such things will bound to happen even if they somehow become famous for quality products and services. voh kia kehtay hain...chor chori se jaye, hera phairi se na jaye.

Filter house is over priced. I used to buy Liquimoly from them, but I stopped when I found out they charged way more money than the prevailing price. They don't sell fake stuff but they do try to sell you no-name brand filters at atrocious prices.

Passo's filter picture posted by us000 is the same that Filterhouse gave me with their own logo and they were demanding 1,250 rs. This is too much.

They know they are a brand now. The prices are too much and they don't give discount even to their neighbors.
We sell Meguin oils at 1000rs/liter and they sell the same at 1400/liter.

Own branding is way too lucrative. Banwao 50rs ka aur do 1500rs ka.

People trust them now and they are taking advantage of it.

We sell Meguin oils at 1000rs/liter and they sell the same at 1400/liter.

They were selling Liquimoly MoS2 10W40 for Rs. 4800 while the same available for Rs.4000. When I told them this, few months later I found they reduced price to 4400, but still Rs.400 premium! Seems like the owner of filter house was a butcher not too long ago

Wow - at last someone made a thread on this self-proclaimed great filter and oil shop..

I myself have been 'stung' by them a year ago - I sent mechanics to get Toyota T-II auto transmission fluid. Filter House Ferozepur Road (since they did not have that in stock), highly recommended, nay, pushed the mechanic to buy Dex-III instead, stating that it works fine and that they have used nothing but DX-III for many years now..the mechanics promptly came back and changed the auto trans fluid on my car without thinking (trusting a BIG name like Filter House to know what they were talking about). I was not around at this time, or would've
sliced off a few heads..

Simply put, I was cheated out of my hard earned money due this obnoxious and baseless assumption by Filter House. I had to buy double the amount of T-II fluid to actually properly flush the system of the sh*# that DX-III is..

I even went so far as to print a Toyota Factory Service Bulletin (which I will find and paste on here a little later today) - this bulletin firmly states that "T" and "D" series should not be considered alternates, should not be mixed, and whatnot. Technical reason is of course the different composition of gears, requirement of various friction modifiers, etc.

A friend who used to love Filter House, upon hearing this news from me, chided me about it, and said it must be the mechanic's mistake. He called Montgomery road and Defence branches in front of me (on speaker), and even those 'knowledgable' folks recommended the same things....to replace with DX-III.

My friend is still flabbergasted...and none of us have ever gone back to them..ever..

In the absence of customer orientation, lack of quality checks, and big investors easily buying off the law, we can't expect much more, can we? ;(

aakbar - bro, the best would be to get OEM replacements from dealerships; if you do not want to go the OEM route, then find a reputable place selling filters of Taiwan/Malaysia etc that fits your budget.

I personally have used and have no problems with LePpon filters (made in Malaysia).
