Filters Of Gaurd Or TOYOTA?

Im currently using gaurd's oilfilter,airfilter and diesel filter. If i buy original toyota's filters, will they make a difference in my cars performance etc ??

not really, but your car will be breathing a bit better.
though there is no significance difference, so just stick with guard but make sure its the genuine one.

as far as Corolla is concerned, the genuine filter has a rubber around. SO it fits well and doesn't cause noise. If you put copy, it would have noise because of plastic around it. Saying it based on personal experience!

Ive used Qaim air and oil Filters and they were very very nice for the applications I used them for. But as usual I got them from the distributor rather than retail (which completely eliminates the chance of fake stuff)

after market oil filters are not good choice.
when ever u go for oil change u can check both by your self.
ask for both filters like orignal toyota ones and also a guard.
let me tell you how u can check weather it is fake or orignal.
open new filter from its packing.
try to blow air by your mouth into the hole located in the center of filter the orignal filter has a vavle that make it possible to pass air or oil to flow into one direction.
like if u blow air in to the filter by putting your mouth on it the air ll not pass through it.

try this thing with both filters.
you ll get the ans.

With Toyota your Car will have much lesser Noise as compare to Guard one for Air Filter, while for Engine Oil you can use for twice Oil Changes and for Diesel roughly 10~13k km is enough.
its better to use the Toyota Filters if you can afford otherwise get some Jap/malysian Brands thy are many and praised here by many members also

Buy which you are sure is original stuff.
However i do not personally like guard air filters, however there oil filters are good.

Mehran Autos in saddar rawalpindi their stuff is original - they have a good repo. Ive bought the filters and a diesel injector cleaner from them, ill change the oil soon. 200 km left...

I bought Toyota Filters and Toyota's Diesel Injector Cleaner.

After putting the original toyota filters - i feel my car has become more smoother

The thing with Guard and Toyota products in the open market are, that they are produced by the same company/ies and packed different to suit customers' wants. This was revealed to me by a retailer. He was even honest enough to tell me that while both cost me Rs. 150 each back then, he was making Rs. 25 off me from Guard and Rs. 75 off the Toyota one.

The only way to be at peace of mind is to purchase from Toyota 3S dealerships because I think they maintain homogeneity in their products and thus one can be at ease by knowing it is the same quality each time rather than No. 2 product one time and Quality 7, the other.

I have been using both-- originals from 3S shop and Guard (only from Metro). I have found no problem with Guard air and oil filters. The milage is still great as it was with original Toyota filters.

Yeah, i buy from Younus Autos in Saddar Rwp, they have the orginal stuff.
But can someone tell me from where i can find the best air,fuel and oil filters, even better than toyota's.

For the diesel, genuine filters are a must! including the fuel filter!. And no, it's not the same thing at all! Guard is guard, toyota gets it from Denso! I know because ive been there done that. And like bluespark said, the genuine air filter's base is all rubber and no plastic. using the guard filter introduces a significant amount of retarded noise. you'd have to be deaf not to catch it. Oil? any good oil should do. Im explicitly talking for the 2c engine.

Edit: on my last service, the genuine Denso air filter from toyota costed me 1750, and the fuel filter about 2500. i cant rember how much the oil filter was for though. I have an air compressor which i use to clean the air filter like every sunday. Should last longer but i change it after its done 4000km.
Also, Both of these things come from japan, not made in pakistan. Check for a stamp on the element.

Totally agree with omar, first i used to use to gaurd filters but after using toyota's...i feel one hell of a difference. Thats why i use toyota's everytime.
But there has got to be some filters even better than Toyota's, can anyone tell me ?

OEM at 3s dealers are good but Guard are also good and remember mostly OEM are made by Guard without stamp for specific company.
