bro i have some advice for you .....take it as gospel.......a powerful amp never hurts anyone....for sure..........what you can do is set the gains low with a powerful amp......it is far better than buying an amp which is low powered and then you set the gains high it leads to clipping which THEN might result in destroying some of your audio parts./............THIS is one of the main reasons I bought the two amps that I did My PDX F6 (600rms which Alpines birthsheet actually says 173rms per channel so it in reality even more )...with this powerful amp I can upgrade to even better and more powerful speakers safe in the knowledge that I have the juice to power it.....My second amp the M12 which is 1200 rms even though my Alpine sub is only 600 rms....but again I have the choice to either buy a second sub in the future or a more powerful one even though at present I do not need it because I know I have the power to supply it.......so bro dont worry about amps ripping the sub............more juice the better

Well the latest update done a couple of days ago in my car is being posted here.

I changed my pre from a Pioneer 8450bt to the Pioneer DEX-P99RS a stage 4 Reference Series cd receiver......

What can I say about this unit....I have only had it a couple of days but the transformation
has been nothing short of miraculous .......I mean the entire sound stage, the sonics, depth, clarity, precision, quality has changed.
It is like getting into a Lamborghini Murcielago from a Civic. The difference is literally night and day......

I mean the time has been too short so far for me to do this system justice...or to post my thoughts on it.....rest assured over the next few days I will post some more pictures, my thoughts and ideas about this unit..

The tuning itself will require me to devote paras on it.....I have only scratched the surface off it whereas others who have had it for about 4-6 months are still discovering new things in it and how to maximize the sound from tuning this system.....in different ways....

initial thoughts: cannot describe in words.....

.I mean truly I think Pioneer hit it into another universe with this....it is so far and beyond any other component in ones car.....that there are hardly anything made that could equal it in the quality it brings from amps to speakers to anything......I mean the way it has meshed with my amps and speakers is just extra ordinary.....:o

it has lifted the entire sound stage to a different level.....I mean I know the Alpine amps I have are just extra ordinary but the soothing notes it brings out with the power of both those amps is just crazy.......I mean I can just imagine with DYNaudio speakers what the sound would be.....with my BA comps it is great in itself..............

yes brother worked a miracle to get it this early...you have no idea about the shift put it to procure this.........I mean pulled a rabbit out of the hat to get this......:D...But credit where credit is due.......you played a solid part in this brother;) and for that I thank you:D

brother the only advice I can give you is get cracking on installing yours straight away;........I mean do not waste a minute......the future beckons.......a future of blissful......notes.......

Brother.....let me put it to you this way....what a person thinks his components in the car can produce drastically shifts after installing this gem.....I mean it so proves an adage what you put in you get out.....this changes the goalposts of what a good pre is

actually changes what the definition of a good pre actually is whether (8350), (9600) . The three previous pres are generally thought of as being quality but this truly changes that notion and makes it seem a fallacy......it makes them seem like I dunno a child that is newly born and this is a full grown adult....that big of a gulf.........in what it can do .....and produce....
The best part about this wonder is that I have not even begin to explore in detail the tuning capabilities of it and elevate the quality of the sound stage even further.....It will be like discovering a new element in your system or a new part of the system every day.......you can do so much with this it is truly a piece to wonder at.......
this is probably the best decision I made........within a couple of weeks of deciding, planning about it managed to procure and install this magic....

and bro thanks for your advice as well about it....next time hope we can finally actually catch each other if you know what I mean..

copper plated chassis to eliminate Magnetic induction noise....5 times faster DSP than the p880 and p800, audiophile grade capacitors,sound master clock circuitry, 32bit floating DSP
and wait for it my favorite 8 channel outputs...... I mean the list is just endless...the tuning possibilities are just mind boggling.....

I would say if you are tempted get it for sure install it and then just sit back and be prepared to redefine what your definition of pure sound actually is...note I mean not good or coloured sound but pure sound....

no matter what level of a guru you are and your judgment of what good sound is be prepared to have it torn apart and ripped up when you turn this on.....

totally agree bro....that is why when I am advising people as well I always want the best for them....and give them advice as prompt
as I can and almost always respond......which is why it is unfortunate when some esteemed members do not....reply at all....when asked for advice.....someday i will post my views about that.......but thats life with its ups and downs.........

there was this one guy on my thread who asked me to help him set up a system similar to mine ....and I agreed even though I didnt have alot of time I spent a couple of days with this guy at the shop I get stuff from and for sure and the result was outstanding....the best part was seeing how happy he was and to this day he still emails me his updates and how the system is running....

bro I remember the convo we had when I was trying to decide between 80rs and the 99 ....It seems to have worked out a treat so far....I mean the sound is truly....crystal clear any volume any variations......

Bro active vs passive....the day I go active will be something.......but it is always great to try to learn the tuning aspects of this beast to the max before embarking on the next step...smart vs impulsive....

when I installed it I spent a good 4 hours sitting in my car just tuning the system...would you believe and I am of the opinion that I have only just scratched the surface ....imagine when one has tried different tuning variations of this ....I mean the five different memories of tuning on this is just crazy....... truly something to experience in ones life....now I know what some of my mates abroad said that you really have not lived until you have this in your car......
