totally agree bro....that is why when I am advising people as well I always want the best for them....and give them advice as prompt
as I can and almost always respond......which is why it is unfortunate when some esteemed members do not....reply at all....when asked for advice.....someday i will post my views about that.......but thats life with its ups and downs.........

there was this one guy on my thread who asked me to help him set up a system similar to mine ....and I agreed even though I didnt have alot of time I spent a couple of days with this guy at the shop I get stuff from and for sure and the result was outstanding....the best part was seeing how happy he was and to this day he still emails me his updates and how the system is running....

bro I remember the convo we had when I was trying to decide between 80rs and the 99 ....It seems to have worked out a treat so far....I mean the sound is truly....crystal clear any volume any variations......

Bro active vs passive....the day I go active will be something.......but it is always great to try to learn the tuning aspects of this beast to the max before embarking on the next step...smart vs impulsive....

when I installed it I spent a good 4 hours sitting in my car just tuning the system...would you believe and I am of the opinion that I have only just scratched the surface ....imagine when one has tried different tuning variations of this ....I mean the five different memories of tuning on this is just crazy....... truly something to experience in ones life....now I know what some of my mates abroad said that you really have not lived until you have this in your car......

Enjoy your passive setup first........after few months or mayb years when u feel u wana have change then u can always go active This ICE is really addictive, a good music is a gr8 mood elevator and really touches ur soul. Have u tried the auto EQ and Time Alignment ?

Brother.....let me put it to you this way....what a person thinks his components in the car can produce drastically shifts after installing this gem.....I mean it so proves an adage what you put in you get out.....this changes the goalposts of what a good pre is

actually changes what the definition of a good pre actually is whether (8350), (9600) . The three previous pres are generally thought of as being quality but this truly changes that notion and makes it seem a fallacy......it makes them seem like I dunno a child that is newly born and this is a full grown adult....that big of a gulf.........in what it can do .....and produce....
The best part about this wonder is that I have not even begin to explore in detail the tuning capabilities of it and elevate the quality of the sound stage even further.....It will be like discovering a new element in your system or a new part of the system every day.......you can do so much with this it is truly a piece to wonder at.......
this is probably the best decision I made........within a couple of weeks of deciding, planning about it managed to procure and install this magic....

and bro thanks for your advice as well about it....next time hope we can finally actually catch each other if you know what I mean..

Excellent choice over there man, when you have to choose between a mehran (8450) and then various cars leading ultimately to a Lamborghini (p99), there are two approaches, ones that your try and enjoy the entire journey, learn from every single improvement and prepare for the next!

The other is Sheikh Ya Habibi style, Wallah if u have it why cant i have it? and go straight for the Lambo!

I apologize for all the destructive advise i have given you in the course of time we interacted regarding everything bro!

And Now You Have One of the Best SQL Rigs in Pakistan, Congratulations For Completing and Excellent Setup From P99 to alpines, bostons everything is top notch! and i pray that u go on to be the first guy to buy p1000rs when its released !

Thats almost the same as I think....enjoy the current setup , learn it as much as possible......the tuning possibilities are just endless in this pre.......Going active later on is definitely an option..........

Not only is it really addictive but it is like a sound I cannot describe ......quite unique........best part is ...it actually elevates the other components you have in your car ....especially the speakers...the sub....tightens everything up.......

i was going to come to this later but its good that you have brought it up......So far I have tuned the pre according to my tastes....be it the equalizer.....and the (hpf, lpf more on this later....) but had a few questions on auto eq and time alignment.....

I have not done either so far because I was enjoying the sound alot....but I have heard that time alignment can take things to a different level....and that the auto eq can sometimes make it better or worse....but the general consensus is that once the auto eq is done one needs to fine tune more.....as it is set up for active ...what my question was :

say I have my equalizer setup on memory 2(out of the 5 available memories) can it be possible to run auto eq and/or time alignment on a different memory channel such that it does not erase the setup I currently have.....not that it would cause me any issue as I can always retune it and set the equalizer to my tastes once again.......basically say on memory 3 could auto eq and/or Time alignment be run and then I could run the setup on different memories as according to my need of the hour? maybe time alignment would be permanently set but auto eq could be run differently on different channels?

Roms the great thing about it is listening to ones entire collection of cds that one used to on the old system on this pre....it is really like you hear new things in the song, the songs sound different.....even the ones you did not like now sound bearable on the this pre......:D.........I mean I commend the Pioneer engineers who designed and made this......I dont see how they could ever repeat this or better it seeing the direction the world and the economy are going....putting so many high end components and parts into this pre.....ever again at this price point.......what I have heard from some people is that Pioneer are almost actually losing money on this .....

reminds me of the people that conceptualized, sourced and produced the Bugatti Veyron......That company actually loses money on that car....They only made it to show what they could do......seems to me Pioneer did the same with this headunit...show the world.....what they can do.....:o

The only pre I can think that was comparable to this but still abit inferior or superior(according to different people) was the ODR.....and that was a masterpiece....(H)

we have had many fruitful conversations that have resulted in some quality info and have been a great help......
it has not always been the case for me....there have been say a couple of gurus(they know who they are) who I have tried contacting
asking for some advice but none has been forthcoming.....but to me its all water under the bridge and no worries....I enjoy going with the flow......

hahahah the impa....thing was funny....as you know from our many conversations that I am always on the go and just as busy as you and do not get much free time for life's little indulgences....so when I do get some free time I try to make it as productive as possible......

sheikh habibie.....hahahahahahahahah man that reminds me of some good standup.........it is nothing like that at all buddy.......I wish it was.......otherwise I would not have wrecked my head and spent so much time and effort on research on different audio parts and components........before purchasing.....If I had I would just buy, use, abuse and discard if I did not like it........the shift put in to complete this setup in this timeframe only I know and a few trusted gurus on pk wheels and how much effort put in.......sheik habby man still chuckling........on that......although lambos have always been my fav...more than the murcielago check out the Lambo Reventon....now thats some unique next level s....
My only goal in completing this setup has been the pursuit of excellence in sound.

Congratulations...that's one hell of a head unit.I myself recently shifted to a p90rs and didn't change anything else and the difference was just unbelievable.
A lot of people invest in other things first, the head unit is the most important thing as the speakers can only sound as good as the source and with the reference series it's just like having the artist sit right there in front of you.
Just wait til you go active then it'll be on a whole new level. =)

Thanks ......too be honest many people are always told by their audio shops about the importance of speakers....and amps....
it requires a techhead too know about source units as well.....of course s.... in s.... out.....so it all starts from there....as well as what you are putting into your source unit....i mean 64kp mp3s will sound different from 320kp mp3s and original cds will sound different from ones that are pirated.......

Brother at the moment enjoying as is.. will open that can of worms when time comes....as then different setups of speakers per channel, what sounds good what doesnt different drivers all come into play.........

an audio cd copied from an audio cd will sound same as original. the problem is when these shopkeepers start making the audio cds from mp3s.

a very confusing thing for newbies is this. they get a good system installed, put in their fav bhangra/indian/etc cd in and it sounds like crap to them. so it gets them thinking that the system is not worth it. the problem is, a good sound system will bring out the best in a well recorded song and will highlight all the bad in a badly recorded one. so even the music you listen to matters. installing a 100k system in the car and listening to naseebo lal etc is not going to make the song sound brilliant.

Thanks for the compliment. The cd player was expensive but once you listen to it you realize it is totally worth it........I dont know if something is better or worse ....Generally I prefer going on the specs and the components .inside them...check the specs and the build quality of both the p90 and the p99 and make a decision.....

p90 generally requires an external dsp whereas p99 comes with one inbuilt......but both are top notch you cant go wrong with either.

Hello everyone. Just got back from a trip. But was never out of the loop. Lot of interesting stuff coming up over the next few weeks.....Anyways about a month before I left I commissioned a design from our very own Pakwheels guru Splfanatic and got the box made based on his design.I was looking for something and the box worked well with the P99rs . I finally got around to installing and playing around with it.....I call it my "Black Beauty".Below are some pictures......Spl you better get back in the game before someone takes your place brotha;)
