Hi there! About the Map sensor, can any one tell me how to check if it is working correctly? Because I am getting idling problems with my 5afe engine, I already cleaned the throttle body and the ISCV... Now I am wondering what to do next... Thanks

Assuming you sell the old 2E for 35k, thats 5k for 200 more cc's and a newer engine. Thats not a bad deal at all

Part of this reason is because they are mostly uneducated and the passed down knowledge by ustaad was on prehistoric engines which had no valve seals.

The more valid part of this reason is why not earn more out of the same job, - e.g. head removal and install labour = 2500/- full overhaul labour = 8000/- for sure he will try to oversell you and charge Rs 8000/-

i have few questions. it has some sort of black smoke while starting in cold state.
Some one said me that it needs complete overhauling, which cost about 50 K.
Now the questions are
should i replace it with petrol engine and install CNG?
If i overhaul it, what u suggest, what thing should be done?
what parts should be replaced?

From a carburated engine then swapped to EFI engine, where is the idle up switch be wired? is it OK to be wired from the idle up switch of carburated engine? or it is wired to the ECU?

Another question, upon changing from carburated engine to EFI engine, do we really need to get an aircon amplifier or that aircon box?

I have a 4afe engine replace a 5afe using the 5afe ecu. My problem is hard start when engine hot(normal temp), start well when cold.
suspect engine flooding and I have to cut power to pump while cranking to start. other problems is after replacing the fuel pump without filter in tank, cause it was dry rotted, car refuse to work well when fuel 1/4 tank and below . need help

I did of this same automotive. My engine was in good shape. however i used to be not proud of 2E + CNG+ A/c Performance thus thats why modified to one.5.

Azi there's a distinction evidently the important take a look at are once I install my CNG Kit into this. For currently i\'m victimization it on fuel.

These old A and E engines are tough workhorses - built for decades of service, They would be a good choice for Pakistan, the NZ engine is really good (a bit nazuk tho) but would make sense if there were none of the old engines available.

These vvti engines are still expensive and not as easy find as these A Or E series. We last week swapped a 4efe DIS amazingly clean engine cam straight from dry port. Now tht cost us 75k the normal 4efe laying in market u can even get for 50. This 4efe was very silent gave surprisingly good power

I know this is an old thread but I need help I have a 5afe in a ae 80 I was getting idle problems I tooked out tb and serviced the iscv and lube motor the guy who wired the engine left out many things like sta no+ voltage at batt no cor no cel i'm trying to wire it properly by reading this thread thanks to all I don't no how to wire the ac1 ac2 act I have a ac amplifier for ae 100 opened it but don't have anything print on board it have numbers at each pin my ecu is 5afe ect opened ecu have b/k,od1,od2,p,m,s1,s2 printed inside don't no what are these need some help in wiring it up thanks

@experts: Can you please suggest what Toyota engine (4EFE,5EFE) is simplest to swap, means all the ECU pins connected with PS, AC vaccum line, filter etc. I am considering a swap of engine for my EE80, but I don't posses knowledge and expertise, which is needed to complete Wiring things. I have couple of friends in Quetta (Engine Guy, Mechanic & Wiring Guy), they can find me a clean engine, swap it in my car and do the wiring part. Things I don't know what to tell them about the ECU things. Perhaps a checklist from you guys can help to complete the job.
