Currently my rig has 225/80 R15s

What tyre size shoould I go for?

Thats sounds like a sweet deal actually but has to be approached very carefully to make sure you don't land in trouble as finding decent parts for the original CJ7 engine is tricky....

The original CJ7 engine is a 4.2L and you have to make sure that its not the 4.0L Wrangler engine which has the front 4x4 diff on the other side as the CJ7 transfer case. I think CJ7 drop is right side while the Wrangler is left. Though I doubt the Wrangler one will go for that price...

You could mate the Wrangler engine to a CJ7 gearbox to solve the issue but there is a speed sensor in the flywheel which is tricky....

the 4.0L i6 can be mated to a T5 transmission, don't know what trans hsumbal has.
And the original transfer case will be used..

Also there is no speed sensor on the flywheel (if we're talking about the same thing), there is only a crankshaft positioning sensor which will have to be changed / installed to run the i6.

The best part about the 4.0 i6 engine is that it can tow cars at its idle speed and even being a petrol engine it revs and drives like a diesel
It might even run if you accidently put in diesel instead of petrol, but don't take my word, haven't gone that far yet.

No I am not talking bout this perticular engine
The engine that I intend to go for is the older version not the MPFi one.
This perticular engine also appeared in the CJ5s of mid and late 70s
Its a carby. The three things that I am only concerned about(to make the engine reliable) are the Carburator, Fuel pump, and the ignition coil. These will have to be repalced/upgraded. I can get these things sourced from US as my brother is there but the estimate has come down to around $700:-#. And we all know that the AMC engines are thirsty. But one can live with that as far as the motor runs smooth.
Whats you take on that.

carburators can be rebuilt for cheap, you'd just need a proper rebuild kit for that specific carby, as you said you can source one from US. And a good mechanic here.

Once you get the engine, before buying any part, it would be a wise idea to remove carby and such things and to inspect them before hand.

Regarding the fuel pump, you can always opt for an external electric fuel pump.. new ext fuel pumps can be bought locally for cheap and can be installed easily.. pressures are managed using thicker or thinner return fuel lines..

Ignition coil / wires / plugs are again not a problem, can be bought locally for a very good price.

One upgrade I'd do to that setup is the alternator, they have tiny ones like a 63AMP. A 100AMP alternator or higher can be sourced locally.

About the engine ur right that things can be worked out locally.

Currently I have a toyota Hilux five speed box and transfer case.
But today I have found a four speed Jeep box with original transfer case in Bilal Gunj.

I did not show a lot of interest in as I did not want to tip the kabaaria off.
But Inshallah after the Eid hopfully I will talk to him bou the engine and Transmission. Lets see how it works out.

There was a five-speed version as well.. Borg Warner T-5.. you might even find one.. with the same dana 20 transfer case.. i'm quite sure the kabaria has the dana 20 case..

Yeah most of them can be done locally, the original mechanical fuel pump seems to be a hard one..
