I am glad to post this topic to give heads up to the people around about my personal experience wifh this specific Honda model and Honda Atlas Managment who totally ignored this life threatening defect the car is being produced with.
On personal level, I have done some investigation and received valuable information from Honda North America. The culprit appears to be the Airbag Control Unit (SRS system).
As i mentioned the airbag did not deploy at the time of the impact regardless I was wearing the seat belt. The Airbag control Unit takes 12V electrical signal & converts it into 14.4V and sends to the Airbag Inflator which in turns deploy the airbag. As the fire started inside the car (clearly visible in the pictures that the hood and passenger/back area is not on fire, only middle part initially) it may have been because of the substandard wiring/relays/coils/other relevant parts which are used in the SRS system. At the impact the airbag did not deploy because Airbag Control Unit couldn’t convert the electrical signal from 12v to 14.4v and led to a short circuit or electrical fire in the Unit itself.
Additionally, the fuel lines could not have been damaged or caught fire as they are on the left side of the car. The impact was at the front right of the car so it is highly unlikely the fuel lines were damaged.
The accident itself was not very severe rather it was the fire which caused personal injuries & consumed the car. The point to mention here is that why this fire erupted ? Accidents happen every day but we dont expect such new generation highly sophisticated cars catch fire & safety devices fail to work when required.

At present Honda North America has recalled several models due airbag problem manufactured by Takata company which caused a few deaths. Honda has taken responsibility, investigated the problem and finally recalled all the effected models to avoid any further possible deaths. Everything is posted on Honda North America website and the information is open to public.
Honda Atlas should take some responsibilty and at least investigate the reason for the fire and if required recall all their defected cars for proper rectification. This is the least they can do to save a life, if it all matters to them.
I personally feel till Honda investigates the reason of fire in all the reported fire accidents in CIVIC, anyone driving a Honda Civic is sitting on a ball of fire.
