because of their light body they are not bad. My c5 was getting 27 mpg on highway.

Not really. As toofats said, they've good mpg specially on highways. All Vettes avoid gas guzzling tax for a reason.

I know tht Vettes hav a decent mpg figure ..But Fuel economy wont be a consideration for a Vette buyer..And even if they r expensive on fuel the buyer wont really care..Coz hez not buyin the car to get grocery everyday frm the local MArket...Hez buying it fer the exhilirating pleasure it delivers...
So i still stand aside my analogy mate !

Asking mpg of Corvette I truly agree with GM's then CEO's statement while launching ZR1.

"we suggest anyone who asks about mpg be immediately disqualified from ownership."

I just recall a similar joke abt Rolls Royce :

why would some one care about fuel economy while buying a car like Corvette.
and if someone is actually concerned about Corvette's fuel economy why not install a CNG kit for "MAXIMUM" fuel economy

it seems that chevy has a another niece brand working in their favour. the old GS was beatuful and easily recognizable (with the 2 red lines on the fender), i hope this one too becomes a legend...

(but honestly the vette has more respect than it deserves, the C4 & C5 were DOGS!)
