I am not sure which Camry enginee is there since there were a lot of version in VR MZ and MR
In fjs pre 80s there is a slight change in the front grill and fuel tank is below the driver seat. It was replaced in 80s onwards due to fuel leakage issue and harrards. Thiss change would cost you as well.....
I have not experienced cammry engines first hand but I know the transfer case and gear box alteration would be a pain and reliability may be an issue.
There are a few popular engines out there like 1KZ and 5VZ and UZs but it depends on your need and demand from the vehilce.
1kz goods engine gear and wiring would cost around 300k plus with zero warranty. The setup is easy, 5vz would be around it.
A good paint job with complete frame off can cost you from 100k to 150k with close to none body work. Since the floor , tub and fenders are prone to rust......
If you ask me for a normal drive 1kz is good but I would prefere HD seriese or 1UZ for different purposes.
Best of luck ..... Please keep in mind the amount spent on SUVs especially 40 seriese won't pay you back ........ They cost a lot and sell for not more than 5....... For 6 lack vehicle I expect a lot of goodies or at least good quality of workmanship
