And regarding 2F engine, there are mainly two reservations with most of the off roaders in Pakistan. First, its fuel consumption. It could go as low as 3 km/l and secondly, there are very few people who understands the exact tuning mechanism of it's carburetor. These local mechanics have tendency to open brand new carburetors almost immediately when they fail to get the reasonable mileage. They don't understand the importance of correct gauging of spark plugs, tapits and CB point. Ignition coil and a well maintained cooling system with thermostat valve also plays an important role in overall performance. 2F was very carefully designed for Land Cruisers keeping in view the weight of the body, horse power and torque requirements etc. Toyota used this engine for more than 2 decades in their Land Cruisers. The motor it self is very tough and trouble free. In US and Australia, most of the restorers are still using this engine. Not only this, they have started making fuel injectors, electronic fuel pumps, electronic CDIs etc., etc., for this engine. Properly overhauled and tuned engine could give you a very good mileage and a pleasure of driving a real 4X4.
In order to drive these vehicles, you have to have some understanding of the above aspects. Many people these days don't understand this and that's why they run from such (2F) engines.
