Guys guess what Toyota Indus motors has temporarily Stopped the delivery of ALTIS in "Flaxen Mica" ( the latest new color )!! No new Bookings in this color and even worse those ppl we had already
Booked altis in this color are forced to select another just days b4 the delivery date!! This is Really bad … does any one know the inside story?? Because the Toyota guys are not giving any solid reason??!?!?!?!

the import of that color is stopped due bcz it could have exported 2 some other important country from Japan.
etc etc
2ndly no 1 is here 2 ask them strictly.
if u wan 2 do something, ask them 2 pay cancel booking & pay interest 2 u, if not go 2 court.

They are the lions of Pakistan Auto industry, They can do whatever they want, a minister was not able to do much even after losing his son, what can a common man do with such minor issue (in their perspective).

guys toyota pakistan sux big time!! they are spoiling the brand name of the best selling car in the world!! any ways has any one else had this issue with toyota indus motors?? not delivering the same color booked??
and how can i get the money back with intrest?? coz i don't like any othet color!

write a letter to concerned dealer with a copy to Toyota MOtors Headoffice
mentioning your intention to cancel booking of your car and demanding payment of interest for the period.
keep things documented in this way and keep on calling or visiting them.

i've my GLI booked through toyota defence motors and its in Flexen color due in October. I was pretty shocked after viewing the comments and have taken the number of Indus GM to inquire the status. he said the color in not imported, all the locally assembled cars either suzuki, honda or toyota are painted with colors from ICI or berger only (sadly not imported). They are claiming to install a Robot Painting facility and Flexen being new color and a bit sensitive needed some setting which is done and the bottom line is that i'll receive my car in choosen color within committed time... I'm happy, at least i've received the response from someone at indus. lucky huh?

Believe me today if i wouldn't have received any response, i would have claimed the refuned. b'coz i took the comments very seriously.

Regarding the company presonally speaking, i'm least bothered and I am only concerned about my car.

Guys, I booked by GLi back in July 2003, and they told me that I would most probably get it in the first week of October. Well, I didnt. Every time I called Toyota Islamabad, they told me that they had no clue as to when I would get my car! So I called them up and told them that I love my Corolla so much, that I want to send a letter to Toyota Japan telling them how much I am pleased with my car. And he gladly gave it. I received a fax exactly 7 days later saying that my car was ready and awaiiting delivery. This chap from Toyota Isb called me saying that, "Sir, your car is here, please come and pick it up". The exact same guy who 7 days earlier couldnt even tell me where my car was! DOHC RULES BABY!

zeeali which dealer are you talking abt isb,lhr or khi?? coz in islamabad both the dealers are saying that they can not deliver "Flaxen Mica" colour in OCT-SEPT because of TOYOTA INDUS MOTORS even if you have booked ALTIS in this colour months back!!!

which i think is Pathetic!!! like TOYOTA INDUS!!!! we should take this to press and court! the head-line should be "Toyota Indus cheating people to buy colours the don't like"??????????

Let me correct you, there is same waiting period in India if you want a brand new car. My Friend who is a Indian had to go through hell and had to pay a premium (on) for a Daweo matiz (chevorlet exclusive). Yes it is easy to buy a car in the USA all you have to do is just go to the car dealer and he persueds you to buy a car even though you do not need one, happened to me while i was in States, luckily I had forgotten my SS card. lolz!

racerf1....the Daewoo matiz was last sold in India in 2000, was introduced in 1998!!.That was the situation then, and was even worse a decade ago, but not now.Competition and increase in production capacity has made buying a car easier.For eg. when the new Swift was launched , demand outpaced availability but Maruti was able to meet demand by increasing production of the same model.1.2 million new cars were sold in India in fiscal year 2004-2005.Things are different now.

not quite right, he has sold his daewoo and is waiting for his Honda City which he has order about 2 months back and is still waiting. Oh yes he just called him and says he has to wait till December 15 for the delivery. He has paid about 90,000 in Premium. Go Figure!

You are right about one thing, there is improvement. So hopefully Things do get better Both in India and Pakistan. That is if they stop profit from the public, I doubt that!

For that matter if we want a particular color or equipment choice one has to wait for delivery in the US also , or anywhere in the world.My original comment was based on the passion involved in buying a new car in Pakistan and the significant wait times of months and the chicanery involved.As an outsider i find it amusing, but for those paying through their 'nose' for these cars , the situation is an outrage.I hope things will improve soon.I guess the Honda City is popular in the cityof India that your friend lives in and the local dealer's cashing in.C'est la vie!.
