Marla & Kanal terms r used in Punjab,AJK & KPK provinces while Square yards(Gaz or Gaj) is used in Sindh & Balochistan for houses while square feet is used for flats / apartments in Sindh & Balochistan

10 Marla = 0.5 Kanal = 2250 square feet = 250 square yards(Gaz or Gaj)

40 is width X 62.5 depth or 62.5 (width) X 40 (depth)
