Fluids/Oil Suggestion for City 1.5 Auto

Hi guys,

So after a long search i have finally purchased a car. A 2015 City 1.5 Prosmatec. I have never owned a Honda before, been mostly a Corolla person.

I need some suggestions about fluids, oils, parts, and tires as well. The meter reads 66k milage but it is definitely reversed. Anyhow if you guys could kindly suggest me what i've mentioned below and anything else i might be missing i'd appreciate it if you can add it. I would be great to mention names of products, that way it is easier for me to find them. I do like to take care of my ride but i am almost always on a budget so keel that in mind lol.

-Engine oil
-Break oil
-Transmission oil
-Coolant
-Spark plugs
-Tires (i am not gonna change tires now as it is going to be a huge amount, i think they have some life left in them). Can i also get a recommendation on a good chinese brand too in addition to the popular brands.
-decent air filter + cabin filter brand

Engine oil

5w-30 fully synthetic by either of Shell, Total, Caltex / Havoline, KIXX or even PSO. Just ensure that oil is 100% authentic.

Next option is 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline.

Last option seems to be ZIC 10w-40 fully synthetic.

Break oil

Any of DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 from reputed brands would suffice. Prefer to avoid going for local brand. Foreign brand like Caltex, etc. may be preferred.

Coolant

Caltex all the way!

decent air filter + cabin filter brand

Only the genuine, OEM ones, or at max., their 1st class, A type copies.

basitali has guided u right abt the different fluids. Coming to point of whether all these need to be changed or not, that needs to be inspected by their condition/prev record.
Brake pads should also be inspected.

For atf oil use only honda atf from dealership preferably, atf needs to be changed after every 40k.
For spark plugs, they are usually good till 80k, less or more, unless they have been ruined by steel buffer cleaning.

Thanks for suggesstion bro. I am thinking of replacing them. I know for certain that the meter has been reversed so i want to get these things changed to get an idea of where my car is at.

what about 40k kms check up

engine oil 5w30 SM fully synthetic 3.7 l only Honda engine oil should be preferred
3.7l with oil filter and 3.5l without oil filter
oil should be changed after every 5k kms
oil filter and air filter after every 10k kms
40k kms check list
1 tappet adjutment (after every 40k kms)
2 throttle body wash (after every 40k kms)
3 catalytic convertor clean (after every 40k kms)
4 fuel filter replace after every 80k kms
5 wheel alignment and balancing (after every 20k kms)
6 tire rotation after every 20k kms for better tire life
7 four wheel brake service (after every 10k kms)
8 ATF change (after every 40k kms )
9 brake oil change (40k kms or 3 years)
10 tire pressure 32psi front and 30psi rear
11 check battery tonic after every 5k kms
12 change genuine spark plugs after every 100k kms depending on engine condition
consult to the previous owner and ask which work has done so skip it thanks

It means that if you are changing oil filter too, at the time of changing engine oil, then quantity of fresh, new engine oil poured will be 3.7L.

However, on the contrary, if you are just changing / draining the old engine oil, and not changing the oil filter, then when old oil will be drained, then the quantity of fresh, new oil poured will be 3.5L (as 200 ml of engine oil is already there in the oil filter).

Thank you, i understand. But if i may ask, why would someone not change oil filter? Because i have been replacing my oil filter with every oil change all my life, what's the reason not to?

Agreed.

It only happens when oil filter has to changed after every 02 oil changes, e.g. if OEM says to change oil after every 5,000 Kms, and genuine oil filter after every 10,000 Kms, then in such scenario, above situation can arise.

However personally, I am of the opinion that oil + oil filter must both be changed at the same time. No need to go for and buy fancy, expensive oil filters. Simple ones can also suffice.

Its only been 2 maybe 3 days since i got the car so i have not gotten to calculate average properly.

When i got the car, the avg in display panel was 9.5, since i am driving it has increased to 14.5. But that what display panel shows. I calculate it by reserve to reserve, then dividing milage by liters of oil filled since full tank. That i havent done yet.

Engine seems okay. Good response. Any indicator in particular about engine condition.
