I've used both, and when i switched from Acces to Polyglass, the difference was A LOT.
Access 165A: These are the best in 17k range, the mid-bass is strong and punchy and a little twangy. The tweets are lively and require some time to bow down, if installed properly, these would suit a good SQ and SQL setup, can go loud as well.
Polyglass, PS165: My first impression was oyii what beefy surround of the mid-bass, the heavy build quality which seems more solid than access. The tweeters are partially horn loaded, they are smooth and detailed. Moving on to the best thing about these components, well Focals are the best set of components hen it comes down to mid-bass, morel, alpine, infinity doesn't even come close. The mid-bass on this set was not only just beefy looking but the reproduction of sound through them is crazy, strong, full, deep and extended are the bass notes through it. The crossover has tweeter level setting as well as different frequency cut-off points making it more suitable to tailor.
Overall PS165 are definitely worth having, their mid is as strong as the V30, but i like the tweeter more on the PS, if i were to even compare both PS and V30, i would definitely buy the PS because it's better in my opinion and in the opinion of a lot of others who've used v30
