The most famous and probably the best Police interceptor in North Amercia and some Arab countries is phasing out and the last production month is August 2011 as per the numebrs that I got from Ford today. They are shutting down the St. Thomas Ontario assembly where this car was being built. That means famous Lincoln Towncar limo is going out of production as well since they are the same cars.
Ford is making the Police force take their all new Taurus :-#... and so far from what I hear cops are not liking the test results on Taurus. Crown Vic was probably the most safest vehicle for them becuase it is full body on frame construction. Dodge Charger is another option and is currently being used by some police forces but again it is fragile when compared to Crown Vic. I think Ford is making a mistake by shuting down this plant and phasing out Crown vic. Instead they should've just upgraded the looks and maybe boost up the performance but that is just my opinion.
