Ford Mutt commando jeep m825 differential noise

Salam pakwheelers. need your suggestions with some issues with my commando as its my 1st time owning a jeep ever.

1- Recently baught a Mutt m825.. rear differential makes noise on 4th gear and higher speeds. its too loud and you can't hear the person sitting next to you. someone suggested installing prado SSR differential and problem would be fixed for long time.

2- it has 1800cc petrol engine, and gear shifting is difficult some time. you have to try and shift in 3rd or forth gear on idle and then you can shift into 1st or 2nd. any ideas what's wrong and how can I get it fixed?

3- The original braking system is very dated and unreliable. jaming the wheels or don't work with soft paddle. no way I can drive in the city roads with that. can I install disk brakes instead?

Also, can someone please suggest a well known mechanic in pindi/isbd area who knows the jeeps well?

try overhauling the differential it is pretty basic and all service parts as in bearings & seals can be purchased new from parts market.

what is power train configuration of this mutt. as in engine , transmission type.

For gear shifting you shall get the clutch set inspected and replace with new parts. clutch plate pressure plate & thrust bearing if any of the item has worn out gear shifting will be a challenge.

For brakes you can swap front rotors and disc clipper from a regular hiace van, with a brake booster.

thanks brothers. I don't think overhauling will fix this differential. the guy who owned it previously tried already.

can I replace with ssr differential? one mechanic said it would cost more then 1 lac as he will have to make some alterations to make it work.

also, can you suggest a good 3000cc or 4000cc petril engine to swap? do I have to update on documents as well?
