I think if they had more emphasis on track layout it would make for better spectacle, but as we have discovered lately, Max Mosely has been interested in other things, and has forced alot of rules through in order to make time for what he really enjoys

Ferrari critical of KERS plans

Ferrari's vice president Piero Ferrari believes the Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems will only increase costs and will not improve the racing.

KERS are due to be introduced in Formula One from 2009 in what promises to be a major challenge for engineers.

The system will allow drivers to draw 60kW of energy from one axle on the car to be used in the form of a "push-to-pass" button to increase the chances of overtaking.

Aguri hoping for 11th hour rescue deal

I dont know what Mr Montezemolo is trying to say. 1) That Raikkonen and Massa are on equal level. 2) That Alonso is on a superior level to Raikkonen or vica versa.

Imho he is wrong on both counts if thats what hes trying to imply.

I think what he meant was:

In his opinion Massa, Raikkonen and Alonso are equal drivers. Massa & Raikkonen are working well together whereas Kimi and Fernando won't work well together.

Good competitive qualifying session.

Congratulations to the Ferrari fans. It looks like from now on Ferrari will be gaining most of the points whereas the other three (BMW,Mclaren and Rebault) will be fighting for poistions below second. Its great for Ferrari than Renault have upped their game.

I wonder how light Alonso is running for him to get that front row starting position. They( renault) have made a big step forward but i suspect Piquet Jrs time, give or take a tenth or two, is more reflective of renaults pace.
Mclaren are either carrying more fuel or they have started to fall back slowly which would not be entirely surprising given the lack of experince of their two drivers.

Man this is a race i want to watch live... its gonna be on at around 0500 my time... kimi baby is on pole and indeed @UK how the hell did alonso get all the way up there?!
but the icing on the cake... hamilton expressing his shock at the pace his car generated with a heavy fuel load...

anyway the start is gonna be pretty interesting... I predict kimi keeping his numero uno spot with alonso dropping back being replaced by massa... i think kovalainen might climb a spot or two as well... as for hamilton... ANOTHER STALL!!!!!!

Man i better win some decent points this time around on the f1 fantasy thing...

Kimi baby has done it comfortably... kudos to hamilton for hanging on... Massa gave me a scare at the start of the race... he almost had kimi on the start there.

And that Kovalainen crash was scary... looked like a replay of that silverstone crash of schumi's...

A champions drive by Raikkonen underlining his class yet again which has never been in much doubt except for the odd mistake he makes during a season. Mclaren dont have the speed to live with Ferrari at this point in time. If anything they seem more on BMW`s level with Mclaren having a very small advantage, but BMW seem to have better one lap speed.
Bad time for Alonso to have an engine failure as he would have picked some decent points today. Renault have taken a huge step forward, given that Alonso was only two laps lighter on fuel from Massa, and at worst would have qualified third on the grid.

A stupid late call by Toyota cost Trulli valuable points in the race. ( and me in the fantasy league)

Super Aguri have withdrawn from the Formula One world championship with immediate effect, the team announced on Tuesday.

After weeks of speculation about their future following the collapse of a proposed takeover by the Magma Group, a last-minute rescue package by German automotive company Weigl Group was not good enough to keep them racing.

Honda says Aguri exit was 'inevitable'

Japanese car manufacturer Honda claims there was no way Super Aguri could continue in Formula One unless they could support themselves independently.

With Super Aguri announcing on Tuesday morning that they were withdrawing from F1, backers Honda issued a statement expressing disappointment at the news but claiming it did all it could to help.

Ferrari will not use new nose in Turkey

The Ferrari team will not be using their new 'hole in the nose' design at the Turkish Grand Prix this weekend.

The Maranello squad introduced the concept in a test prior to the Spanish Grand Prix and then used it during the race weekend in Barcelona, where the team took a commanding one-two, with Kimi Raikkonen leading Felipe Massa.

Despite its success, however, Ferrari will not be using it in Istanbul due to the low-downforce nature of the circuit.
