Two stories.....A famous famous win for Williams, everyone up and down the pitlap would be happy and the neutrals around the world. A great gift for Frank Williams to celebrate his 70th birthday. A solid drive by Maldonada, kept it together through out the race, which is not something he does often. Pity about the fire, looks really bad and there are some injuries. Hopefully none will be serious.
Second, three races, a second place and two wins, all missed. Thats the story of Lotus and Kimi Raikkonen. Words fail me, sticking to the softer tire for a second stint on both cars, wtf! And it's not like they had to venture into the unknown, Perez had switched to the hard compound and was flying but Lotus decided, for reasons not known to anyone, to stick with the soft tires and that is where the race was lost. At least they got Grosjean out of Raikkonen's way this time around so they are learning. My commiserations to Waqas and Blackeye. Raikkonen would have been leading the world championship now.
Ferrari, a good result given their car, which is not as good as where it finished. Helped by some updates and a few faster cars and drivers making mistakes in qualifying. They are heading in the right direction and hopefully without jinxing them, this championship will sooner or later turn into a battle between three drivers.
Lastly, Luca Badoer, where are you?? Please come back!
