I ve never been a fan of any team, but if i was forced to pick one, it would undoubtedly be Williams and as much as it would be nice to see them on the top step of the podium, i am not into fairy tales. So, Alonso needs to clear Maldonado off the start line going into turn one. It's one of the longest runs to turn one on F1 calender. Alonso and Maldonado have both made good starts this year but will the pressure of being the pole sitter get to Maldonado? Will starting on the dirty side of the grid hamper Alonso? There was a lot of dust on track so a repeat start of last year might not be possible for him. Alonso is hopping and aiming for the top step of the podium, especially with Hamilton out of the way but realistically he is aiming for third or fourth. To do any better would be a great bonus and for that it's imperative he clears Maldonado.
Lotus was going to be a threat even without Hamilton being removed from pole but their task looks all the more easy now. On friday they regularly dipped into the 1 minute 29s while others were doing 1 minute 30 something and everyone believed that Lotus was running more fuel. Their race pace is very good. It should come in handy. At the same time, slightly cooler temperature forecast for tomorrow might help the Ferrari too. All three of them need to clear Maldanado quickly because passing is the most difficult thing on this track even with DRS, and some drivers at the back in quick cars have new tires and a free choice of which tire rubber to start on.
Red Bull screwed Webber big time and there was no end to moaning from Button. Damage limitation for them tomorrow. A slight possibility of rain even:S I'd keep an eye on a very excited Grosjean ramming someone at turn 1.
Sam Micheal; that ba***rd. He is jinxed I'm telling ya. There is something about him. I'm quite happy for him to have brought his ' special ' kind of magic with him to Mclaren.
On a side note, what if the penalty for robbery was death? How many would attempt one:S
I don't think Mclaren were cheating in running the car so low on fuel. It was a mistake in the pits but they should have been punished and so they have been. I seem to recall that one of the pole sitters or one of the top three qualifiers in the first four races stopped right after the start finish line, don't quite recall who it was. but he wasn't punished. Maybe he had a solid reason. Maybe Steve can help us with the identity of that driver.
The funny bit from today was Schumacher getting a reprimand for cutting the corner at turn 10 or 13, don't remember which one. After appearing before the stewards he was reprimanded was doing so and the press statement put out by the stewards read something like " Driver of car #7 failed to give any reason for repeatedly cutting the corner" I found it funny. Old habits die hard:-# The other bit was when he was asked on thursday if Rosberg was learning from him on how to defend, making a reference to Bahrain GP. He declined to answer the question:D
