This incident clearly shows the mindset Hamilton have and why I don't like him. He is the one who takes out Verstappen at British GP and then when he wins the race have celebrated it like it was nothing. That incident was much faster, the damage was much heavier and the penalty was not appropriate.

Here the incident was at a slower speed but just because of laws of physics exist the result was more dramatic. As open wheel cars have a tendency to interlock their wheels with other cars and then the result is mostly unimaginable just like in this incident.

Also, Monza is a place where historically such incidents are a regularity as in 1988, Senna's McLaren collide with a back marker while he was leading the race and then he was retired from the race as his car was stuck on the kerbs.

Then in 1993, two teammates crash at the start finish line on the last lap to have a dramatic airborne crash for 1 of them.

Hamilton's comment of Verstappen not checking him is just a way of trying to make Verstappen the villian because from the crash images it is quite clear that both cars are parked at the same spot so Verstappen already knows whether there is some thing serious or not.

With 8 or 9 remaining races we are going to see at least 1 or 2 more incidents like these so this title fight is going to be decided by the out come of the future incidents, as its not just the crash but the aftermath too that will decide the title fight like penalties, penalty points total that could lead too ban, engine and gearbox damages and their replacement penalties these last races are going to be interesting just because of these even if the racing itself is not exciting.
