Ferrari’s technical director Ross Brawn says tyre consistency will play a crucial part in Sunday’s French Grand Prix after watching his cars qualify first and second at Magny-Cours.

Renault engineering chief Pat Symonds admitted he was surprised by the pace of the Ferraris in qualifying in France, but insists the world champions can still win its home grand prix.

hey man Alonso is my favourite..then comes kimi but man he is so unfortunate..schumacher is old now man.

@nak lol man schumi if he was that old then he would have been home watching it on tv instead he is racing these guys who are 12 14 years younger to him and beating them its not the age its the skill and he has plenty of it still today was just another example and not to mention 7 world titles and almost each and every type of formula1 record.

well brother i think alonso is the next rising star n believe me he is going to beat every single record set by schumacher...man he has some great talents...n again he is going to win the championship...no doubt schumacher is very good but this guy Alonso is very very BAD..

Alonso is not a bad driver but i dont see him in the same league as schumi,raikonen and company
many a times alonso is just plain and simple lucky
all the bad luck seems to fall on his team mate fisichella
the championship is sure going to turnaround after todays race it will be mor eintersesting to see if massa can keep his second place ....... decreasing the gap in the constructors championship as well

yet another record for schumi the first person to win the same race for 8 times and approaching on another amazing record also if schumi wins 4 more races this season he will have joint victories of 2 previous world champions combined the great Alan prost and nigel mansel.Go schumi go (y)

what went wrong with kimi's pits? why did he stop 3rd time after having a 11 second pit stop?
& one more thing jus consider if Ralf Schumi's first pit stop wouldn't have gone bad he was on podium.but still a good strong finish for Ralf.

the gap for constructor's & driver's championship is closing. its gonna be intersting finish to the season.

@zia the left rear wheel nut was loose on the wheel thats y the pitstop was long he lost time there as well or kimmi also could have been infront of alonso anyways nice strategy change by renault to get alonso infront its going to be interesting end to the season.

@ghuncha as long as he stays with mclaren nothing will change they just cant give him a good car and today i heard also that alonso is now trying to get out of his mclaren contract because has seen the situation of the team in my opinion he was really stupid by leaving a winning team and going to a team like mclaren which has been on a downfall for the past 5 6 years now he should have stayed with renault and built a family like schumi has done with ferrari.

I totally agree with you. Alonso should stay with renault. I hope Kimi's miseries end next year. But looks like he will have to stay with Mclaren because a move to Ferrari or Renault doesnt seem likely..

brother mclaren had one of the best cars last yr...it was declared the fastest car but it was kimi's fault who couldnt make something out of it (he had some major accidents last yr if u remember plus blown engines which i think is a driver's fault)...i'm not sayn kimi is a bad driver but he aint lucky..n in this season i agree that mclaren has been facing some troubles in terms of the car coz of the new engine but i'm sure they r going to be fine in the next season...in this season team ferrari has a great car(i think the best ever), even better than reno...lets c wat schumacher can get out of it...but i'll still say that Fernando is fernando

are you sure that a blown engine is always the driver's fault? Race engineers do have great amount of feedback from the car and infact they can re-programme the car's tuning depending upon the conditions. A driver's job is to drive according to the team's requirement. A driver can only push hard if he is given the OK singal by the team..

Kimi retired iin most of the races last year from 1 position. I dont think he was insane enough to push the car even after securing the win..

The single tire set rule helped renault in a massive way last year. Because their car was the most soft on tires.. That iis one of the reasons why they won the championship..
