As mentioned in my earlier posts I have mentioned the suspension issue of revo and my suggestions on the best one can get to set it up in terms of comfort. Trucks are not for everyone that's true but one has to drive it to be sure if they can live with it. I test drove one and i am still ok with it after an year and a half of daily driving one at least 50 kms a day.
Moreover, I would like to present my experience regarding needing an SUV for a northern trip. I went to Naran this year July and to my surprise the roads were horrible and car drivers were dead slow on bumps and such, as car suspension can only take so much. Potholes there were terrible. Revo with its hard leaf springs but big tyres is much more bearable on the same potholes whereas cars were struggling. After recent flooding I bet the roads will stay in poor shape for years to come. Yes, some places that have direct motorway access are good to go but not most. Also with an SUV one has access to river side offroads in different areas, which I thoroughly enjoyed. One can take their car off road to a nice quiet spot besides the flowing river and have a cup of tea or a bite. Nothing better than the feeling of doing this. Just my humble observations regarding north trip.
That being said yes, cars can still go but it won't be the same experience as an SUV.
p.s. my family has been going to north since when I was of age 4-5. Before the double cab i only knew the experience of going on sedans or hatchbacks. I remember busted silencers and scraping sounds etc. Although on hills SUVs come into their own and I now understand that they are much more enjoyable on off road than on road. No offense to car owners or your comment sir. Just my perspective.
I suggest to drive a thai revo and you will know that revo has a bad reputation because of Agri Auto shocks.
