From 3 speed auto to 5 speed manual 5vz 3.4L engine

Hello guys,I recently bought a 70 series land cruiser RKR which has 5vz 3.4 litre petrol engine,the car has an automatic transmission which is 3 speed which makes the car run on high rpms and has a very low mileage of 2.9km/litre within city also it restrains it from going over 110km/hour.I wanted an expert advice on whether i should switch to 5 gear manual transmission or not,also which gear should i use and how much is it going to cost me.Thanks alot

What rpm does it cruises in 110km/h?

Goes to full rpms,hits the limiter

sir @usamazahoor1 your RKR is perfect example of botched swap.

the ustad did swap of a modern day V6 EFI engine coupled it to a 3 speed automatic old school 2WD truck. OEM Stock automatic transmission for J70 was a 4 speed automatic.

perhaps you need to swap the transmission before you dissolve resources in fuel bill. even after perfect coupling of auto transmission. Please do not expect miracle of xx km/ltr (double digit) it will remain in single digit however better then at present.

how do you know its a 3sp and not a 4sp thats not shifting into fourth gear.

It can be a 4spd with a 5.0+ ratio diff causing this too.
It needs full testing of diff first then gear

Im from hyderabad,and yes you are right im very well aware of its changes in avg after the change of transmission right now its giving me 2.9km/litre 🥲

I got it checked by 2 of the mechanics who are famous for working on cars like these,one of them said its a 4speed and the second one said its a 3 speed however i asked the previous owner he told me its a 3 speed

sir @usamazahoor1 you shall visit some gearbox speacialist known for his work in your city. only after his inspection you can be sure of transmission model so he can endorse former owner's point or recommend you a swap upgrade to 6 speed auto to couple with present engine.

Transmission model is usually stamped near bell housing. Please inspect and share numbers here instead of guessing. This should be first step in diagnosis and will tell whether it's compatible with engine or something else needs to be checked

Brothers thank you for the help,took my car for a long ride on highway found out that it is actually 4speed automatic,the fourth gear has a problem in shifting but it does shift most of the times
