Assalam-O-Alaikum

In my toyota vitz I have following camera on my windscreen which is attached to back view mirror. I wonder what is this? Is this really camera or something else? How to activate this? please check images.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Looks like a lane assist radar. Does the car has a lane assist feature?

Nope. According to auction sheet I have following features

Front Camera
Back Camera
TV
Aero

and all other power stuff l like window, steering, mirrors etc

These are camera but you cannot see their display, these are cameras and sensors for anti-collision assist
You car will brake automatically when something comes in front of the car. Its not a 100% perfect system but has saved me from accidents quite a lot of times.
If the car has lane departure assist same camera are used.

Acution sheet doesnt always mention all features.

It wont mention stuff like traction control etc which are a feature in Pakistan but not in Japan over there every car has it

You can post picture of every button in the car. Some buttons are on the right side of the dashboard and some near the gear lever
I can guide you better as to which features you have then

OK I understand but if this is anti collision system then why it doesn't work? I am seeing this thing in functional. It must be Off or something doesnt know

It is supposed to be on as soon as you turn your car on. I dont know why it doesn't work . If it was not working it should have lit the yellow warning in the dashboard

It can also hai lane departure assist as both of these use the same camera system and both are optional features in vitz so very rare

The button highlighted in RED is lane departure button and the button highlighted in GREEN is anti-collision assist

You must have one of these buttons check your car

Anti-Collision assist automatically brakes the car when something crosses in front of your car or if a car in front of you stops.
Some cheaper cars dont have the range setting on it but i think Vitz has you can set the distance between 1-3 or 1-5 which is the distance on which it should activate.
On 1 it will activate even if the car is quite far away and on 5 it will rarely activate and brake using ABS making teen teeen teen beeping sound and Geerrrrr geerrrr sound of abs

It could be that the previous owner set it to 5 hence you have never seen it activate.

Lane departure assist monitor your lanes.. This only works if the road has properly painted lanes like the motorway, If your car slightly move into the next lane without having the indicator on it assumes that apko pata nai k apki gaari side pe ja rahi hain and beeps and meter mein light on ho jaati hai

Wa Alaikum Salam. Brother, this all is part of Toyota Safety Sense, which includes features like automatic high beam, anti collision assist, lane assist, traction / cruise control, etc.

Your car has these features. Some features are not automatic and depend on driver for activation. You may Google for more details regarding them, and how to use them.

To change the distance settings i think press the anti-collision button once and in the meter there should be PCS followed by small ooo (zero symbols) press it again those zeros may increase or decrease and you can see total 5 hain ya 3
I have JDM Alto X it has no range settings. In My Aqua there are 5 range settings no idea about vitz so you will have to see for yourself

Be careful about auto braking. It can surprise you in Pakistan especially the one which is on your tail.
