Fuel average of aqua 2017

Salam everybody. As per subject mentioned above. I have purchased aqua 2017 few weeks ago. My driver took it to Islamabad and lahore, total journery covered was 1300 kms. Calculated average i got is 16 km per litre only. However, i have heard that above 20 and 22 is quite normal in aqua whatever the driving style is. Average speed was 130 to 150 on motorway with hi octane. Eco mode was left on. Plus, oil filters and oil etc everything was updated. So should i get it checked?

Above 110, the hybrids tend to drop average...it's normal if you get 16 at this speed. While driving you will notice the rpm is quite high when you are cruising at 120 or 130. I think it's because of the cvt. Moreover at those speeds, the battery is pretty much doing nothing really and it's just running on engine so it's normal. Try driving it intercity and then calculate average. The average shown on meter is accurate as far as I've observed so keep an eye on it. Also reset the meter at every fuel up and note the average after driving it for around 150kms.

Well...I have also 2017 Aqua doing 28+ in city..but never tried on Motorway ...I think speed is too high,if it is drived within cruise range (115),you will find significant improvement in fuel economy. Secondly, need to check tyre air pressure as well must be not less than 30 Psi.

Your car is perfectly fine. Don't turn on the eco mode at those speeds it will decrease your fuel average. Eco mode works by limiting your engine's performance. Think of it as when you turn on power saving mode on your phone it limits your processor to increase your battery life, Eco mode works quite similar to this it restricts your engine's full potential for fuel saving. Now when you're driving at those speeds the engine has to work very hard with the limited perfomance it has hence the fuel average drops. Secondly don't trust these claims, I have had some people telling me that their aqua has a fuel average of over 30 kmpl .

I've owned two Aquas (2014 and 2016). They are very economical but don't expect wonders. There is no substitute to driving with a light foot when fuel economy/ conservation is "the only priority". Its simple equation. On highways/ motorways 130km/hr to 150 km/hr will definitely entail more fuel expenditure irrespective of your engine tuning. At the most, i used to get 21/22 kms/liter as my fuel average with AC and my vehicle was in pristine condition (low mileage, newer plugs, filters, engine oil, CVT gear oil etc) and sane driving. On highways it came down to 17/18 km/liter. I would suggest following:
1. Make sure the engine oil is 0W-20 as more viscous engine oil "reduces" fuel economy
2. Air filter is genuine and clean
3. Service your batteries
4. Full diagnostic check is carried out.

Thanx brother for such worthy info. But whats the procedure for battery checkup/service? Can i get it done by Toyota dealership?

I have aqua 2012 and I am getting 32 to 38 in city with out ac speed 50 to 60 and on long 25 to 28 with ac and speed 85 to 110
