My Gli gives me 14.5km/L nowadays and before it was 12.7km/L and after servicing the throttle body it increased.

Did a test again on Gli 1.6 AT. Went out to a village 16 km short of Sargodha and came back to Islamabad. Total distance covered is 466.8 km. Maintained speed between 120-130 constantly on motorway, 80-100 on bhalwal road, 20 on village road

The fuel average of new Dual VVTi 1.6 A/T is pretty good and comes very close to that of 1.3 L VVTi GLi.

Hello All,

Recently I bought Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLi A/T (March 2012) and I just wanted to know average fuel consumption in KM/L. Currently it gives me in between 8.0 to 8.5 KM/L in Karachi with AC. I personally feel it should be little higher
Anyway if someone has Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLi A/T 2012 so please let me know the fuel average and if someone has an idea about it so your reply must be appriciated.

It gives ok because more brakes in city will increase the fuel consumption because every time u applies brakes the system of the transmission will lower the gear immidiately. use Shell synthetic oil and change the oil every 4 thousand kilometers(if ur running is more than 35kilometers daily if not then change on every 5000kilometers). because according to th toyota experts 1 litre oil for 1000 kilometer only. Aik aur bat bhai agar gari apki apni milkiyat(apne paiso ki) hai to please computerized and efi tunning ke liye me ap ko toyota workshop recommend karo ga paise ziyada lein ge lekin kam acha karte hain. agar aap CNG pe chalaen ge to bohat hi jald aap ki gari ka jannaza nikle ga.

These look very accurate. I achieved the same @120 and @100 on highway without cruisecontrol - Gli 1.6 AT

Local numbers - yes it can give you 10-11 km/liter if you drive it normally. I have been able to achieve 13 consistently inside of Islamabad with a lighter foot and gentle acceleration.

This is the biggest misconception prevailing around, 660ccs are not very good on fuel average, my mira gives around 13 kmpl on local. My previus 2006 Mira would not give anything better than 12 on local.......

For information of every one, I have 1.8 Altis A/T @ 30,000kms;

City with fulltime A/C = 9.6 ~ 10kms/ltr.
Motorway with A/C @ 120kms/hr = 13.8 ~ 14kms/ltr.

This is what I have been averaging, and satisfied enjoy the getup & go of the 1.8 Engine.

Think 1.6 should do the same in city.

I got my car's atf replaced at 25k. First time it needs to be changed at 40k then after every 20k. However i changed early.
