Fuel Consumption?Altis 1.6 vs. Altis Grande?

Both my Altis 1.6 ATs run upto 7-11km/l within city. My dad's does 11 as he drives calm. Mine is 6.8-7kms in a lit and that's with spirited driving. That being said, my favorite variant is the 1.8 6-spd manual. Lowest was 5.8km/l with hours of idle between spirited runs.

Mine at 56k and they’re perfectly fine. Only problem is over services that stealerships are doing to earn money.

It’s a beastly sedan. 0-100 is insane for 1.8 NA, and for a car weighing 1300kilos.

Forget Toyota Dealership.

They are enthusiasts just like us..... after cleaning Cat Con, TB service and fuel filter replacement their problem resolved after spark plugs replacement.....

Even i encountered same problem with my previous Honda City around 30k... some how managed to change them under warranty....

My collegues and pool cars Xlis under my control used to have normal copper plugs as we all know. They worn out at around 15k kms and replaced.... these conventional type plugs used to last till 30k easily before....

Damn! I don’t know how but my old gli had copper plugs, used to last 50k easily, and now iridiums in current one. They’re at 56k, and still going good.
I only cleaned them once, and that too with proper method. I guess it might be due to bad cleaning procedures which made them last this much. If fuel is the concern than out of 56k kms on odo, my car must be on pso for like 45k kms.

Yes at old times this MMT issue was not present.

In regular routine it is not felt..... well it depends on how aggressively one uses the car...

Hard accelerations and dragging definately has the impact of early failures.....

In karachi grande 1.8 cvti 2016 gives me only 9km/L

Well brother i just sold my altis 1.8 on pakwheels and don't ask about consumption. It litterally drinks the fuel. It gives max 9 in city

Aoa. Can any who has been driving grande with company fitted yokohama tyres tell me how are they in terms of performance.

Are they soft ?
Are they quiter or the rolling sound can he felt inside?
I am getting my car soon so want to know should i stick to these tyres which are japanse made or should change them. Ur personal experience will be helpful.

These tires are very good, soft and quite. Grip is also nice, esp wet.

Suspension is updated in facelift so they track better and softer due to newer setup but the tires themselves are not quiet or soft. Change them to your favorite brand and up the sidewall a bit on OEM wheels. It would make a world of difference. And before someone goes around calling out non-OEM spec, OEM+ sizes from LEs, XLEs & XSEs all have the save suspension setup.

Yokohama a260 in altis are not quite at all !! Full time rolling sound ata hai mai ny to tyre pressure b change kar k daikha hai from 33 to 35 !!! Aisa lagta hai k koi heavy cheez road pey chal rhi ho but one thing road quality pey b depend karta hai ye

Road grip boht achi hai !! Jahan tak average ki bat hai altis 1.6 from okara to lahore then back to okara 17.5 km/l

Aoa. Can you please tell me about economy function in grande 2018. if i disable it will it consume more fuel, will there any major downfall in fuel efficiency ? does this eco mode controls car cylinder functions ?

There is no eco mode switch in Corolla. It only indicates if you are driving in eco zone or not.

Yes it is ecozone or eco indicator. There is no eco mode in corolla. .

yea no doubt Grande is far better than all Toyota variants. I my self was planning to buy Altis but somehow bought grande 2018 model. Its an amazing machine. fuel efficiency is very good. in local i am getting 12.5 to 14.5 with use of normal fuel from Attock F11 new pump and F6 shell pump in Isb. This avg is from within city drive with AC on. i drive with normal speed plus some heavy foot too. i think the fluctuation in avg is due to fuel quality. i am using only one pump and even from same pump avg is not constant.

one more thing which i want to share here. if you want more smoothness from grande engine use 5w-30 fully synthetic oil. you will feel engine quite and light. pick will be better too. Toyota is giving Taglon 5w-50 in grande variants and i have felt car gets bit heavy on this oil. after one oil change i switched to 5w-30 totachi Japanese oil and there is very much difference in pick and performance.

has any driven 2018 grande with eco mode off. As there is a option to switch it off. does it gives any boost to car pick if you disable eco mode ?
