Fuel consumption issue on WAGon R vxl

I bought a new wagon r vxl july 2018 im facing some fuel consumption issue in city (karachi) which is approx 12 kml only .. please help

If you didn't reach 5000 yet, It will improve after the first service at 5000km. Rest everything is stock? Like tyres?

Bhai u r lucky, mere relatives mein se ek ne lia, within city with ac, 8-9 se upar nai jaa rha, but long pr 18-19 kia last time, 1K odo

As per feedback from Careem drivers in Karachi, it never gives more than 12 km per litre no matter how carefully you drive it. All cars had stock tyre on them.

One driver even claimed than the there is Throttle sensor issues in some new wagon R due to which those models never give more than 12 kml. the ones without any throttle sensor issue give upto 14kml in city. Maybe wagon R owners can share their mileage in city.
However this is a bit hard for me to believe. maybe an expert can add to this.

If everyone is getting 12km/L then it's ok... but servicing the car might improve it. But it's pretty low without a/c.

Bro, It's 100% sure jin ki average 12+ h un k driving parameters favourable hain. Like less traffic, single or 2 passengers etc.
Baki normal 12-13 nikalti ya iss se upar
Aur baki kuch ka 14-15 tak chala jata
Cultus k case mein bhi aesa hi h
Cultus unfavourable conditions mein 14 tak down chali jati.. Jab k ache parameters hon to 15-17Km with ac
Har car k sath yehi scene h
Jdms mein passo/vitz etc, kisi ki 10-11 km krr rhi rhi kisi ki 14 tak..

I have also Suzuki Wagon R VXL 2018 and it's giving me an average of 12-13 with AC in Islamabad/Rawalpinid City....Iski actual mileage ye hi hai....

Suzuki Wagon R VXL 2019, I have got 16.50KM/L average with full time AC and short route when driving 2000RPM 60-65 speed & on 80-90 speed 2500RPM got 13.50KM/L average. Tyre size is 175/70/R13 Bridgestone B250. All are calculated on short route only.

Bro which oil grade are you using ? I was getting around 14.5 on 5W30 but now I switched to 10W40 , which I guess I shouldnt have. Car has clocked 40k km. Now its giving close to 14. Fuel average depends on various other factors such as how much you idle your car and keep the ac running, tunning of engine, air filter cleaniness, petrol quality (I prefer Shell only), Oil Grade (Viscosity), condition of spark plugs (its gap) etc, carbon in throttle body. I also try to regulate the AC by switching it off in between, off and on when it becomes a bit cold in the car.

An engine tunning can identify the root cause and can help. I prefer to got to dealership because they are knowledgable. Danish Motor is a great place for that. I drive in Karachi City, majorly on university road and karsaz.

My 2019 new Wagon R mileage had the same issue from Day 1 when I get it from Dealership brand new!

First fill up gave me no more than 9 kpl but I kept experimenting.

It currently has done over 2K only on the ODO meter but last tank gave me close to 15 kpl within Karachi city with 50% AC

My instincts say that never stick to a single fuel station and you can only know which one is the best when you test it out.

I just switched from Total stations to Shell and initial calculation revealed that I am getting over 18 kpl from that station which is insane. I will have to consume the entire tank before getting accurate mileage data.

I only refill my tank no more than 25L at a time when the tank shows the last two bars only.

Everything in my car is in stock condition.

• Typre pressure in all four 36PSI
• Just had air filter cleaned with air pressure and also the radiator too.
• I always drive with a soft pedal
• Most of my commute hours are off peak so people getting 12 kpl is more realistic figure for Karachi city.

WagonR normally gives 12-13km/l with AC in city.

WagonR is capable of giving 14-15 with AC if certain parameters are met, for a short time. These parameters include:
1. Clean/new air filter
2. Recently changed oil.
3. In throttle sensor models, clean throttle body.
4. Tuning is perfect.
5. You drive with a light foot and don't rev above 3K rpm.

Wagonr K10b is not same as cultus one
That's the major reason
Cultus K10B is 3rd Gen, with compression ratio 11:1 producing 67hp at 6000 rpm
Wagonr K10b is 2nd gen, with compression ratio 10:1, producing 67hp at 6200 rpm
Aerodynamics or gearbox can also contribute to lower fuel avg
