A very good, stable and reliable car. the average of CNG and petrol depends upon the power plant that it has under the hood. it can be found in 1.3 and 1.5 liter variants originally and thx to the swap industry in pakistan, now u may find 88 with many other engines like 4A-FE, 5A-FE, 4A-GE. I used to have one in petrol (XL) sometime back and am having one in diesel (1.8D SE Limited) with 1.8 liter 2C engine. Although i keep an Altis too, but still enjoy using the diesel 88 and could not convince myself to sell it off.
While talking logically one should always go for the newer model if pocket allows, but if buying a 20 year old car is inevitable, 88 is the safest bet one can make.
