Fuel economy of CNG Vs JDM

Hello everyone. Hope u guys are enjoying your rides. Please only give your opinion/comment with reference to the topic.

There is no second opinion as to luxury and comfort of JDM Cars but as far as fuel economy is concerned, I think cars with CNG give good/better economy as well.

For instance, I traveled from Lahore to Sahiwal and back on my Mehran 2011 Carby with CNG. (not factory fitted). I had AC working one side but without AC to the other side. Total Distance travelled was 319 Km and price of CNG refilled was 760 which gives average of Rs 2.4/Km which is fantastic. (I used AC about 126Kms).

If we convert it to the petrol equivalent (64.7/2.4). That is 27Km/L
I had CNG in my Car but I never used it as my car gives me decent average on long route with AC (18km/L) and 20km/L without AC. However it sucks in the city and 14km/L without AC and 11/12 km with AC.

I dont think any 660 JDM gives this average on long route.

Max speed without AC was 100 and average was 80.
Max speed with AC was 90 and average was 65.

mehran average on Cng is superb dont compare it with other cars on Cng as my charade gives 80 to 90 in city 60 litre cylinder most probably filled in Rs 500

Don't take this the wrong way. No dis-respect.

You can even top those figures by using a motorcycle. But you will be sacrificing convenience. A person whose car is doing 14 KM/L might be travelling in more safety and comfort than your 27 KM/L limit. You are basically paying for convenience.

And these comparisons are fair for same class of vehicles with same level of service. If comfort and convenience hold little value to you then motor cycle is the best option. Even if you have to make the trip two times to haul everyone.

If a JDM on petrol can top the mileage of a CNG car then if will be a remarkable feat no doubt. But basically you are comparing a cramped car with a roomy one, a car with kamani with a car with shocks; a car with working AC with a car where you have to compromise on AC cooling; a car with power steering, power windows, more powerful engine output, more comfortable, most probably an automatic with a car that in my opinion is basically prime example of why democracy has never worked properly in this country.

A JDM dinky will outdo Mehran on most fronts, but achieving more fuel economy due to less price of CNG by sacrificing comfort, convenience and safety is not one of them yet.

On long I'll prefer a car that has low rpm at 120 kph. a trip from sialkot to lahore or vice-versa within 2 hours is impossible on mehran unless one drives like a maniac which will compromise fuel economy. while on city / cultus / khyber I can do it with better fuel economy and comfort. 660cc cars and constant driving at 120. lets just not talk about it.
