Fuel economy of corolla gli automatic vs altis 1.6 automatic

can someone please give a comparison of fuel economy of corolla gli 1.3 automatic vs altis 1.6 automatic, in city and on highway. im gona get one for islamabad.

Altis 1.6 has better fuel economy than Gli Automatic. Bcz gli automatic is underpowered car that's why it'll dont give u more than 10.5 in city on normal foot. Whereas on the same foot Altis 1.6 will give u 12kmpl so Altis 1.6 is a ballanced car. 1.6 is a better option than Gli

and what if we compare Gli 1.3 vs Altis 1.6 vs Grande 1.8?? All automatic.
specially in slow speed i.e small distances and congested street roads (as in 1st or 2nd gear in manual)

1.6 will be the best of both power and economy IMO.

Fuel economy wise Altis 1.6 is better than 1.3 and 1.8 but apart from fuel economy Altis 1.8 is a fun to drive car with excellent acceleration specially manual 1.8

Yes TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 1.6 Auto is a superb car within city and on highway.

Dear I am having Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 2014 model Cruisetronic with 106000 km millage. I just wanted to know which brand and grade of oil is better for best efficiency and of course better fuel economy.

Altis 1.6 is not a very fuel-efficient car.

It can give you 9-10km/1L with A/C and an extremely lightfoot on the highway with zero to no traffic.
In local areas or short trips, it drops to 7-8 or even lower with A/C.

Altis 1.6 is paired with an old 4-speed auto, which is no match for Grande’s CVT-i, which proves to be more efficient than 4-speed auto tranny of Altis.

If Altis 1.6 was paired with a CVT, it would have been a very fuel-saving car in its segment.

^^^ A bitter truth for 1.6 Altis owners.

I have always.. since it's launch I disliked this 4 speed automatic. IMC should get rid of transmission with a CVT for 12th gen.

Lets try to be realistic atleast while giving somebody opinions.

I have the 1.6 FL Altis and never I have got less than 15kmpl on Motorway at speeds 110-120kmph AC ON all the time.

You both are correct this guzzler has a decent behavior on highway and remote travel distance of Punjab , Pindi, lahore, but when it comes to populated city like Karachi the 4speed automatic from 80's fail to reach even 9km / ltr.

I have got the same experience with my 1.6 Altis 2018. It all depends on your driving style. On motorways/highways, I easily get 15-16 kmpl with AC at speeds around 110-120 kmph and locally, I get around 11-12 kmpl.

Altis 1.6 won't return more than 8-9 kmpl if you live in a congested area or have to drive on roads with moderate to severe traffic jams. However if you reside in outskirts of city or areas like DHA/ Bahria you can expect 11-12 kmpl.
GLI returns same mileage in similar city conditions.
However on highways, Gli hardly manages up to 14 if driven with light foot and no hard over takings, while Altis easily manages 15 or above.

If driven in congested traffic no car will give better mileage.
I have kept a Grande, a Civic X, a Civic 8th gen, a civic 7th gen so I always give my reviews that are unbiased. Not a fan of any.

I drive in Lahore, in moderate traffic with few congestions. I get following mileage with 100% AC

7th gen Civic 13 kmpl
1.6 FL Altis 12.5 kmpl
Civic X 12.5 kmpl
8th gen civic 11 kmpl
Grande 12.5 kmpl

Those getting 7-8kmpl are either driving their cars on the streets or driving a mere 3 km per day. Those guys shouldnt be giving reviews on mileage.

Old thread but I would like to share my experience of GLi 2020 manual variant. It gives 11-12 in moderate traffic of city like Lahore and gives 16-16.5KM/L on highway or motorway drive at 100KM/h Speed. Tested many times from tank to tank.

If your Gli manual is maintained, it should easily give 16 or close to 16 average.

Whereas, Altis X 1.6 with inefficient 4 speed auto transmission, hardly gives 10 on moderate traffic in city. You get 16 easily on 100 speed on motorway or highway.

Car should be properly maintained:
1- OEM oil+air filter.
2- Lowest possible oil grade for engine oil as per manual. 3- Plugs cleaning or changing at specified time and Throttle body cleaned if it has carbon deposit.
4- Proper tyre pressure, with balancing and alignment is done.
