I want to know about fuel filter for bike. Is it really worth installing for clean fuel supply for engine or doesn't necessary?

yes it is very much required specially if you are using an after market fuel tank as they have lots of rust particles in them ,,, I am using in line fuel Filter (magnetic type) in all of my bikes.

I have just simple plastic one , how magnetic type look like please provide picture if possible for better understanding.

it is also made of transparent plastic but you can spot a black magnet small size in which attracts any metal particles which come from feul tank and do not let them go to engine... they are easily avaialble you only have to ask for it werna wo sada wala liga detay hain..

the picture i uploaded is what i have, i doubt about filter element don't know what happen if fuel remain inside for long time

The fuel filter which comes with the fuel kaak (fuel knob), remains inside the fuel tank, is the only best fuel filter as far as I have experienced on milove. Those after market inline fuel filters suck big time ... I had air lock issues almost everyday when I had installed it ...

I have installed the Suzuki Mehran's Fuel Filter in my Sprinter and i am quite satisfied with it. Though it looks big for a bike

In-line filter with magnet looks like this, there is a small magnet on one side.

munnapk In RP there is a Feul Cork Filter as well and an inside feul tank filter as well but they dont have magnetic option so when I installed an inline magnet filter I realized I had to clean its magnet almost one every tuning becuase it was full of micro metal particle which were actually flowing with the fuel to piston chamber ... even the tank is rust free but still I dont know may be these particles come from the filling station or some hing I have no idea... about air lock it happened to me as well but only when the tuning guy removed the hosing from it for cleaning once it starts working then it never locked for me atleast...

There is a lot of rust accumulation in my float bowl and it comes from tank, tank should be rust free because it has petrol !
These filters are great because they don't let your carb clog so the bowl needle will not stuck and the fuel will not be ruined by over flowing and draining. But some times they get air locked and it is impossible to start your byke until you remove your fuel pipe, drain a bit.

Air-locking should not happen if the filter is air-tight. I have seen it happen on filters with a screwing bottom container when it is not screwed-in tightly. It can also happen if the fuel runs out and the filter is filled with air as the fuel in it is consumed, in such a case you have to get more fuel or turn to reserve then disconnect the fuel pipe at the carburettor and let the fuel fill the filter. The simple solution: don't let the fuel run out, keep the tank filled.

Using a local crlf fuel filter in yb & it really helped me in overcoming over flow & carb cleaning issues.
I haven't opened bike's carb from long.
I have faced air lock issue only when the filter was choked coz it's paper was filled with rust.
Usually have to change filter after 6 months coz tank is a bit rusty from inside.

For rusty tanks its better to get a filter which can be opened for cleaning, it looks like the pictures in post #13. The fuel enters the container from side and the filter is attached to the cap, fuel outlet is at the top. Rust stays at the bottom of the container, you can put a small magnet in the bottom container also. You can clean the filter every two or three months.

fuel filter that we can open and clean on every service sounds better idea. And I think we can install small magnet in fuel filter if its not sealed especially small piece from Harddisk magnet (very strong). But here in faisalabad it's very difficult to find good inline fuel filter.
