Fuel gauge is a big fat liar!

Fuel gauge of my honda idsi 2007 is such a liar. It goes on reserve on its own accord. Needle is up sometimes.. Sometimes its not so up in same quantity of fuel.
Sometimes i can drive 70km in reserve and other times car stops after 40...
I park the car at night needle is up i come back in the morning and start car reserve is on.
This gauge is trolling me

its not trolling. due to car movement it always show higher than actual position.
when car comes to rest position fuel gauge shows less fuel.
and don't drive with low fuel condition. someday you will burn out the fuel pump.

Petrol contains water. The fuel sender gets rusty .. Have it taken out and cleaned. If its beyond repair replace it.

With petrol being 113 rs per litre cant roam around with a full tank.. Cng milne ki ummeed mai hazar ka petrol daal ke din guarte hain

Uss ka b yehi masla h k jab main car start kerta hoon tab woh actual position me aa jati hy jitna us me petrol hota hy.jab main car ko chabi se off kerta hon tab fuel gage ki sui kich dair me full show kerti hy.jab k main petrol full kerwata hoon tab uss ki sui half se thora upper tak jati hy full tak show nhi kerti.plz tell me k yeh kia masla hy meri car me.iss terhan reserve ka b kuch idea nhi ho pata k kitna actuall petrol reh gaya hy.plz plz brother mujhay zaror reply kerna

Yes it depends on movement , if i park my Nissan Pino on slope it shows that the car has more fuel with its opposite if u are descending

this is because the fuel sensor is place on behind the fuel tank.wen you are ascending,the fuel goes on rear on tank and shows more fuel than actual and vice versa.My khyber has sensor on left side of tank so when i turn right,more fuel is shown and less when i turn sharp left..similarly,when i accelerate,the fuel gauge goes down and when im stopped at signal,fuel gauge rises very minute.its all because the gauge shows approx amount of fuel and not cent percent.

What about in a standing car i put in fuel of 1000 the needle hardly goes up and reserve is still on

Sir, if i may ask do you know whats the approx volume of petrol stored in your gas tank as reserve??? i definitely doubt that 1000rs petrol will hardly turn off the reserve light for a long time as i think that atleast 8 to 10 litre petrol is counted as reserve fuel when the indication for petrol is turned on. How i check my fuel gauge is i take the pain of filling my tank full and then check whats the gauge is showing. If its exactly on "F" or a bit beyond it means my gauge is working absolutely perfect. If the gauge is showing less than "F" this means the gauge is showing less than the actual volume which means that when the reserve light of my gas tank will indicate it is actually indicating much earlier as it should actually be indicating. You know what i m saying??? This is the phenomenon. By filling your tank partially you can never actually figure out if its accurate or not.

Sir the gauge has its own mind. Sometimes reserve light turns on a lot earlier than usual.

cause with CNG installed and emulator the petrol gauge has its own mind

I have corolla 2007 and it keeps 10-13 litre in reserve. I checked many times and tank get full in 38 litres with reserve light on.

after filling liquid fuel close the cap and lose back half notch only. Problem will Vaporise leaving fuel level & gauge back to normal
