Fuel indicator light not showing up

honda city 2007 steerimatic L15A engine

issue is fuel indicator light not showing on reserve until its finished all fuel in tank.
my car stopped and fuel was empty and didn't showed the low fuel indicator until its finished the whole tank.

please suggest what could be the problem. before it used to show light orange when fuel is low but now its not showing. is it bad fuel pump assembly or something else??

There's a thermistor inside the fuel tank.
Take the fuel gauge out from the fuel tank. Thermistor will start getting got as soon as it gets out of fuel and light turns on if it doesn't then first short the connector to see if bulb lights up, if bulb lights up then thermistor is bad otherwise bulb or wiring.

I don't think that a 2007 car will have thermistor for low fuel light. Even my corolla 2002 don't have it. But I am not 100% sure. This city also has the fuel guage sending unit integrated in fuel pump assembly. You need to check if it has thermistor or not.
First you should check if the bulb is blown or not. That is the easiest task to do.

update

my car fuel indicator light came up again but on very low niddle means the ligh gets on when fuel is about to end. i guess there is some problem with gauge.

Poster: get the meter gauge checked from an-electrician before reaching the fuel pump.

actually driving with very low fuel frequently will overheat the pump and damage it eventually,

just fill the tank when needed and refill when a quarter is left, ensures long life of fuel pump!

But its norm here when we drive it with cng. Don't know why cng was allowed to be put in petrol engines. Even my fuel pump has too many kms with low fuel as we only have fuel for starting and rest of the time fuel pump running on cng.

i always kept full tank when used to drive on cng almost a decade ago before cng vanished from punjab

guys update

my car is only petrol. the fuel gauge is working fine now mewns showing light indicator on correct reserve level. i filled 25 liter last time. today i filled 15 liters.

but my car avg is getting worst due to maybe i idle alot with ac.

my car driven 190 km in 25 liters with alot of idleing on ac and stucking in traffic..
