What are the advantages and disadvantages of not having fuel pressure regulator?I know corolla fpr is in tank.
Fuel pressure regulator is installed in all EFI based vehicles. Basically it maintain a required pressure to start a vehicle (as per OEM) in fuel line from Tank to injector rails normally this pressure should be 40 to 50 psi.It works in the way that if pump emit more pressure than 50 Psi (Or as required by OEM) then it releases petrol Fuel system.pdf (126.3 KB)
Should i get it installed?
if it is removed car would take longer crank to start and will abruptly die any time. if there is some idling or starting issues get the pump assembly out of fuel tank and replace perforated balloon type fuel filter replaced.
No there is no issue like that.. Only milage is low like 7km/l.
And mixture will be rich.It maintains the pressure inside the rail. In old engines they are located on the rail. They maintain pressure depending upon the vacuum. As the RPM change vacuum changes so does the pressure inside the rail. In new cars there's pressure sensor in the rail it tells ecu about the pressure and ecu sometimes vary fuel pump to increase or decrease the pressure.
In my model its spring based located in fuelpump assembly in fuel tank..
YesIn toyota old generations like AE or EE series engines. FRP is present on the Rail.New series like NZ,ZR,ZZ fpr is inside the tank
FPR / absence failure does not constitute for bad mileage. There could be multiple factors for high fuel consumption. Get your vehicle scanned and check what are the errors stored in ecu. its must be air fuel ratio / fuel trims
assalam any body could help me in case of 4e fe ecu wiring in karachi

EFI kit is tuned with a specific fuel pressure by the manufacturer. Any increase or decrease in pressure (be it due to wear and tear or due to removal of stock fpr/ installation of aftermarket fpr) will only negatively affect perfromance
Tuning is not a hack job
