Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter & EFI

AA all!

How frequently do you inspect/service/replace the fuel pump, fuel filter and EFI (or carburetor)? What is recommended for a petrol driven 2006 Toyota Corolla Altis A/T?

My car now has almost 80,000km and the drive is as good as it was when it was new. Do you recommend inspection of the fuel system and valve clearance or is it unnecessary right now?

As you are looking for break pads replacement. I think that you should go for a detailed check up now. It will cover the labour costs of most of the parts, fluids that you would need to replace.

Check your owner's manual for the recommended up keep at 80,000. Cant say anything for sure about the fuel pump, but fuel fillter must be replaced.

Well I Say Do Check Fuel Filter And Replace If Needed...!! Nothing To Check Of Fuel Pump Until Or Unless You Fell Performance Difference Or Low Fuel Pressure....!! Pump Won't Get Dead If Properly Maintained And As Car Runs On Petrol...So Its Just Fine...!!

Inspect Fuel Filter And I Suggest Replacing Since in 4-5 years And 80k Run....Some Dust And Particles Might Have Come In FIlter...!! Our Fuel Is Not That Clean

Thanks! Then I guess with this oil change (80k km) Ill fix the brakes and at the next oil change Ill replace the fuel filter, and service the fuel pump & EFI.

And what about valve clearancing? Owners manual says at 80k km...but the car seems perfect...should i get it checked too?

There Is Nothing To Clean In Fuel Pump Beside Cleaning Its filter Attached With It...!!!

Replace Fuel Filter And So...! Servicing EFi I Don't Get..!

EFi Is A System ItSelf...!! Its Not A Thing To Be Serviced...!! Anyways If You Are Reffering Toward Injectors And Fuel Rail Then Fuel Addictives Are There Just Add In Fuel And It Will Clean Automatically...!!

Rest Is All Ok...I Suggest Not To Mess With Anything Including Fuel Pump If Its Going All Good...!!

Yeah I think it is better to leave the things which are not creating troubles. I have never allowed the Toyota to mess up with the tuning, so it is basically on the settings which came from the factory.

After 45 K replaced the transmission fluid, power steering fluid, breaks fluid and topped up ac refrigrant. These are supposed to be replaced at 40K, but I was facing no issues with them as well.

Look Over For Replacing Timing Chain Around 100k Km..Beside That...Nothing Needs To Be Fiddled If Its Not Creating Any Of Trouble....!!

Since Here Things Get Worse When 3S Put Their Hands...So Better Keep Them As They Are Running Good...!!

For EFI, I meant cleaning the injectors, Ive only heard about this, perhaps I misunderstood So is there any maintenance regarding the EFI?

Fuel filter I am planning to change, any idea on price? I just learned (reference Toyota-indus.com) that front disc pads are 4800 & rear ones are for 3400...:S

Yup OEM Brake Pads Cost Quiet Much...But I Say Get OEM SPEC Original Tey Cost Much Once But Won't Ruin Your Rotors And Last Long...!!

About EFi Maintaince Its Nothing Beside Fuel Pump,Fuel Filter, Fuel Rail And Injectors....!

Leave Fuel Pump As It Is...!! Replace Fuel Filter....And Use Some Good STP Fuel Addictive In Your Fuel To Clean Your Fuel Rail And Injectors If Its Some Bad....!! It Do As You Run Your Car.....!!

Beside This...Nothing Is There....!! Sensors Are There Which Does'nt Need AnyThing Until Or Unless They Gone Bad....!!

Replace Air Filter A/c To Schedule And Engine Oil...!! I Will Run Like Champ For years....!!

Regarding brakes, in July 2008, Toyota was charging about 2800 for front and 2200 for rear. Increasing prices by double in 15 months is ridiculous.!

Try Finding OEM part No And Search for Japanese PADS From TOYOTA JAPAN....!! Yup Prices Are Gone Quiet High....!!

OEM Is Always Cost 3X Times More Than Others But It Would Take Care Of Things Quiet Nicely And Long Lasting

I guess what Ill do is just get the brakes from Toyota, but get the front ones now (80k km) and the rear ones a little later, 85-88k km probably. I think it should be alright and it will make it more affordable.

Can you put an estimate of fuel filter cost (from Toyota, and from local market)?

Same As XLi Gli Or Other....!! If Yes Then Some Aftermarket One Is For 300-400 Hardly Or TOYOTA Genuine One Will Cost Much As Sure...!!

1.6Gli 4AFE Fuel Filter Is Expensive Then These Z-Gen Ones As They Have Steel Body....!!
