hey Mehran users,
Many of you have complaint regarding fuel smell inside the cabin while driving. so i am posting here some pics for reference which will help u ppl to diagnose the area which needs to be addressed for fuel smell problem.
this is the area behind the left seat ( the inside area from where the fuel is filled).
You can see there are rubber pipes clamped coming in and out from the fuel filler pipe.
Rust is there at the neck of the pipe
Rust on the clamps
heavy rust at the bottom of the metal pipes.
This is 2016 model car with this much rust and you can imagine old cars with high amount of Rust
to inspect yourself;
Fold down back seat
Unscrew the latch which holds the back of the seat.
Remove the card (gatta)
1) And inspect the area for rust. if there is any rust treat it or change the metal pipe if required.
2) Inspect the pipes for leakage. if leaking replace them
3)inspect the pipes for their softness. If they are hard replace them.
4) In EFI models there is a plastic bottle (reservoir for fuel) is there. inspect that bottle also if it is not leaking any fuel. Sometime while drilling holes for installing speaker board, the bottle gets damaged. So check it for sure.
I hope this info will help.
