Fuel Tank Capacity of Honda Civic 2000 model

Hi ,

Please share your experience related to fuel tank capacity , i have filled my tank from Shell pump it was empty completely , when the guy at the pump refueled it , i asked him to fuel it at full capacity, and it reaches 48 litters ,

civic 2000 model capacity is 45 litters , he said when fuel tank is empty then it can go up to 50 litters ,

is it true or a fraud ?

If fuel tank capacity (excluding reserve fuel) is 45L, then YES, going up and as high as 50L can be acceptable, however, if fuel tank capacity including reserve fuel is 45L, then I don't think it can exceed 45L capacity.

how can we judge if there is an option in Civic 2000 of reserve more or less then fuel capacity ?

Dear best would be study the owners / users manual for your particular make, model and model year.

Owners / Users manuals have all such details mentioned in them.

Let some owner of Civic 2000 model year shed light on it, else if, you may Google regarding it.

Fuel tank capacity is 45 liters for 92 - 00 civic.
Reserve light turns when 6 to 7 liters (need to be confirmed) are left inside the tank.

When you need to fill fuel in your car, never let the attendant manually operate the nozzle.
The attendants at the fuel dispensers have a tendency to operate the nozzle manually, especially as the required quantity or amount is reached just for the sake of rounding off the bill for ease of payment.
They push more fuel in the tank than actually required until it overflows. Remember, tank total volume and fuel carrying capacity are two different things and may never be the same.

Hi Shoaib,
I would like to add a little more.
It's up to the owner how much fuel he/she wants to be filled. You are advised never to fill the fuel tank more than the said capacity rather it should be 1 or 2 liter less so one can feel safe from the threat of overflowing, leakage or else.
