These discussions have really got me considering fully synthetic engine oils of Micking, LM and kixx.

Well, I'll say why the heck no LM ?
Whats good in shell ultra?
Its (shell) locally blended oil. Whereas LM duarability is much longer than shell ultra.

Take two identical cars and feed them above oils.
After driving 8K, put the oils to test.
Am sure shell (Pak. made oil) will be dead for sure.
Whereas LM will have still good power to go for another 2~4K.
Hence the difference is ENDURANCE. LM has really outclass products whereas shell ultra, Caltex, total, Toyota, Honda, etc. are like infants.

At liqui moly website there are four different oil types:

1. Fully Synthetic
2. Synthetic Technology
3. Semi Synthetic
4. Mineral

I know about Fully Synthetic and Mineral oil... but whats the deal with synthetic technology and semi synthetic.. 10W - 40 MOS2 falls in semi synthetic and the only available LM fully synthetic oil is 5W-40 but i believe its a veryy high grade oil (Purple bottle) to pour in Honda City... i dont see much benefit in it... while in Synthetic technology has one variant in PAkistan i.e. 5W-30... over which it is mentioned that it is good for honda, toyota, suzuki, diahatsu etc on their website...What do u say?

If you think their packaging lies- hold them in court! You know deep down inside you are wrong.
Is there any evidence that Lm oils last more than others. You just made a wild guess!

hmm - so an oil with weak add packs and a low quality base stock is better than one with a better stock and stronger pack? Now if you had recommended Amsoil - yes that would make sense but why this??

Using Semi Synthetic MOS2 in my 200k driven City. MOS2 keeps the high mileage engine very happy.

Tried Fully Synthetic 5W40 LM in my 107k Driven Civic . Nothing too impressive, lets see how much it lasts. It previously always ran on Honda 5W30 Fully synthetic (the Total Quartz one). Tried LM to see if i can achieve anything over 9KM/PL. Did not help.

Might just go for the usual Honda which is almost half the price.

I know its called lubromoly - no - its usually stocked at NAPA auto parts and stays there for ages because no one buys them, 1 super expensive stuff man, 2 - its a bit inferior to other brands that are available for less money.

e.g. LM oils usually go for USD 40/- for a 5 litre bottle, while you can buy a Penzzoil Ultra 5w30, Mobil1 0w40, 5w30, 15w50 etc. bottle of 5 qts for USD 25/- from walmart.

Oil lab tests have proven that the ultra and zero chalees mobil 1 are very strong oils and are good to their claim. There are tons of other brands like Citgo, Mystik, Kendall, Chevron, LE, Swepco etc that make very stout lubricants.

LM has a few products I like, one is their diesel purge, another is their intake valve cleaner - very nice products, but their oils.. no I'll pass. Infact the customer base of LM oils that Ive met is usually a snob driving a german car that literally say - that its a german car hence requires german oil.. lol

5w-30 all year, no need to change
