Wow... I know a lot Mehran owners who kept a "Chinese Tala" in their cars. They would lock the steering from near the brake pedal.

but u cant ammonia the car daily. It smells bad and may harm the paint. Killing the ******* is a longterm solution.

you apply it once - only a very very little amount to the crossmember which your engine is sitting on, that is the place of entry - so it will surely rid the rat. btw instead of neat ammonia - you can also use some original formula glint, it also has ammonia.

true that. compare this. a decently attired MB engineer shows you how the marten protection system just scares the animal and it leaves a little warning that please check the engine room prior to proceeding. Providing details of how its meticulously wired into the car for safety, all while you are aweing at a CLS benz in shiny black finish, glimmering under the spot lights while you are chewing nice intricate snacks.

BTW last year i had ants problem in my car. I park my car near to a wall with all kind of plants so some how i guess they managed to build there colony some where in my car.

What use to happen was when ever you place some food item inside the car after few mins there use to be a atack by ants.

Once my father bought meat and he placed it near his feet and as we did some more shopping when i picked up that shooper it was full of ants.

I did spray all kind of ant killers than powder they helped but everyday i use to see ants crawling on my car roof .

This year they didnt appear...

Place piece of cheese bread and many things under the hood every night so rat will only eat those things and will leave ur wiring under the hood ... have ur rat without candle light dinner every day OR start ur engine and rev it up for long time and then turn off ignition go to bed and have a sound sleep rat will enter and it will BBQ'd damn j/k ....

@poster buddy there are also "heat stable rodenticide wax blocks"availabl in market thse are small bloks which can b screwd anywhere in the hood with the help of a screw,these are spcly designd for these sort of problems....get smthing like that nd u'l nevr face the problem again!regarding the opinion of sprying ammonia under the hood.....well ammonia gets evporated in no tim nd it has a bad pungent smell too which may enter into ur cabin nd it will create another problem for you.

Use Mortein Rat Kill tablets. Spread them around your car and you'll never see rats again in your car

I hate that problem, and the south asian rats LOVE to eat german wiring - this problem is faced by many mercedes benz owners in Pakistan - and they would eat something somewhere that you have to dismantle half the car to repair it.

remedy is two part.

one - buy a trap - put some nice lovely food in it.
two - buy some liquid ammonia, and apply it to the chassis crossmember of the car - they dont like the smell of ammonia).

Ive had some weird experiences.

first was a big fat rat in the engine bay who thought that he could stop the A/C compressor belt with its teeth, it was beheaded and made a large mess - YUCK - had to drive back home and take the pressure washer to the engine room.

second were a pair of kittens on a december morning, I sat in the car, put the key to preglow - and heard MEOW (hmm I dont have a cat sound chime) - I opened the bonnet to find two very young kittens sitting on the air cleaner box.

I wonder if there is any auto related problem that u haven't faced & don't know about its solution? :o
