FX queries

I have recently bought an FX, 1984 model. Overall condition is normal. Since I have started using it, I have been discovering problems.. I need your suggestions and advices on them.

First of all, the radiator loses water very quickly... I put half a liter or so of water daily in there. I have got radiator checked and cleaned.. but water consumption is high..

Secondly.. I feel the CNG consumption is very high. Since I am a new driver.. I have no idea what should be an FX's mileage on CNG. Please inform me about it and also tell whether there is some problem with cng system or engine that needs fixing..

Third.. a mechanic told me that the tyres of the car were small and asked me to install the larger ones. What's the recommended tyre size for FX?

I'll keep asking questions later.. I'll be grateful for your responses...

your radiator may be leeking water from somewhere. check the whole body and see if it is damaged or if the drain bolt is loose or not.

second...when was the last time your water pump was replaced (im assuming the FX has one)...probably never. have that done. check your hose...just press it and listen any cracking sound....that means its damaged from the inside.

once u fix it....dont use water....use coolant.

my personal experience, cars using coolants, the leakage is easier to trace. because even if the leak is from such a spot that, as soon as it seeps out, it evaporates. The coolant color is left behind which makes the leakage spot to be traced easilly

• carefully check leakage from radiator

• try to check the radiator cap too. might be it needs replacement

• water body leakage???? another question.

• Radiator Fan not working or running on less speed

try out this thing too

• Open Up the Radiator Cap
• Start your car
• Give a contineous static race to your engine for 1 to 2 minutes
• Notice! if u see any bubbles in radiator??
• Notice! if u see mixing of oil in the water??
• Water in Radiator gets boiling??
• If u experiance this thing, u might have problem with the Gasket/Head.

Gasket/Head if are not in good condition than due to excessive heat water gets boiling and evaporate through bottle as well as loose Radiator cap.

i tink this explains a lot. now go to some good mechanic and get it checked.
