Gear Grinding

Hello..

i have toyota corolla 94 JDM AE100 with 5a-fe engine.. few days back i noticed that gear is grinding in 1st and 2nd gear.. i went to mechanic.. he changed clutch and pressure plates.. and repair the gear synchronizer.. also changed gear oil with caltex gear oil, after this work.. there is little bit grinding in all gears :s again i went to mechanic.. he said.. after few days.. it will be fine.. (ravaan hojaye ga)

but sometimes (NOT every time) there is too much grinding (mostly stuck) between 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 1st gear.. even clutch was fully pressed

ASsalam U Alaikum..

changed gear oil with caltex thuban 80w/90..

also change cluth oil with seiken DOT 3

now kabhi kabhi.. 10 - 15 days main 2, 3 baar gear shift hi nahi hota.. first gear lagta hi nahi hai.. engine off karnay k baad gear aasani se shift ho jata hai.. aur phir chalao to koi problem nahi hoti..

clutch cylinder checked.. us main koi nipple hoti hai.. us main kaafi kachra tha.. so bhi saaf karwa chuka hon 15 days pehle..

please help.

umm.. but now what will be the solution??

solutions is check :

1. syncronizors
2. clutch system
3. Proper gear oil
4. Last is clutch cable, usually its ok

There should be no other reason gears should not work proper

umm.. do u know the cost of toyota genuine syncronizors?? in karachi, pakistan

and will u tell me.. what is clutch cylinder? :s bcoz mechanic told me.. this problem is because of clutch cylinder :s

are you completely sure the synchros are free to spin? What about the end float of the counter shaft - were the adjustment shims placed at their original locations?

this is only valid if the clutch cable etc is in good working order.

You should also note that you do not need GL5 oil in that gearbox, GL3 or 4 of a 75W90 viscosity is required (ZIC sell this product).

brother.. mujhe itni samajh nahi.. :s lekin month back synchros ka kaam karwaya tha.. aur kaam karwanay k baad problem sirf grinding ki thi.. aur wo bhi ab kum hogayi hai.. (mujhe aisa feel hota hai)

problem sirf itna hai k jis din car thori ziada chal jaye.. us din gear neutral se 1st maiN shift hi nahi hota.. even 2nd se 1st bhi nahi lagta.. engine off kar k shift ho jata hai.. kuch seconds yeh tamasha rehta hai.. per phir set hojata hai..

wese.. sirf gearoil ghalat dala tha maiN ne.. aur ab Zic 75w/90 hi se change karonga.. lekin kia aap ko lagta hai k GL5 oil ki wajah se yeh masla aa sakta hai ?? bcoz GL5 oil is for non-synchronised gear.. ya phir koi aur wajah bhi ho sakti hai?

If You Still Face Same Problems After Changing To GL-4 Type As I Told U....!!

You Have Some Mechanical Issues.....(Even Gl-5 Makes It Crunch Like Anything But Will Still Shift Gear) In Your Case...Its A Total STUCK Gear.......!!!

It Can Be Anything From Master/Slave Clutch Cylinder To Faulty Shifting Mechanism Inside Gearbox.....!

If The Gearbox Is messed Up....You Better Replace It....! If Its Clutch....U Will Get It Know Before Parting Gearbox....!

Won't Look Clutch/Pressure Plate issue To Me.........! Gear Shifting And Stuck Issue Is Related To Gearbox....!

Hmm.. Brother Corolla Roz Itni Chalti Nahi.. Jitna Aaj Chali Hai.. Aur Jub Kabhi Ziada Chalti Hai.. Tub Hi Masla Aata Hai.. Yehi Cheez Sochne Pe Majboor Kar Rahi Hai K Aakhir Gari K 15 - 20 Kms Chalne K Baad Hi Aisa Masla Kion Aata Hai ?

So Gear Main Aisi Koi Cheez Jo Ziada Chalne K Baad Hi Tang Kar Sakti Ho ?? Mujhe Ik Aur Mechanic Ne Bhi Cluth/Pressure Plate Hi Ka Kaha Hai..

If 20km running makes your clutch/pressure useless....then must be some serious fake product....!!

my mindset still didn't make me think that it can be clutch/pressure.......but open and check....!

if the first gear refuses to slide into gear when the gearbox warms up, with engine running, clutch disengaged (pressed in) vehicle stopped then either the shift fork detents are bad or the clutch friction disc is not letting go, this can be caused by the pilot bearing jamming up, a siezed pilot bearing can also cause gear crash on shifting as the input shaft does not get disconnected with clutch disengage.

wese.. jub problem karta hai gear.. tub pehla doosra gear lagta to nahi.. per us waqt reverse gear laganay jao to kaafi noise hoti haii.. aur gear shift hota nahi.. bulkai yeh keh lo k us noise ko sun k reverse gear laganay ko dil hi nahi karta

well.. pehle aap ne kaha tha abt clutch cylinder.. jub k aap ko yaad hoga k maiN clutch cylinder se mutaliq tariq bhai se mil chuka hon.. aur unhon ne test drive ki thi.. aur clutch cylinder check karne ka aik tareeqa yeh hai k clutch ko 3, 4 mins tk press kar k rakho.. 3, 4 mins baad jub aap pedal ko choro ge to wo wapis aagaya.. jese normally aata hai.. to samjho k clutch cylinder is ok.. aur agar ab'normality dikhti hai yani pedal upar nahi aata to it means k clutch cylinder is the culprit !!

Pilot Bearing Is Where Your Main Oil Seal is Located....A Small Bearing Seated Inside Crank

As i Say......You Need To Open And Check It......Check Them...(Pilot Bearing) (Release Bearing) Along With Your Fork And Slave Cylinder

Seating Nicely And Perfectly On FORK And Pushing It All The Way.....!!

Opening Gearbox Is Needed In All Cases...Either Clutch Pressure/ Release Bearing Or Pilot Bearing....!

I Wonder Your mechanic Installed A Fresh New Clutch/Pressure Set And Never Check Pilot And Release Bearings?????

The Purpose Of Clutch Cyl/Slave Cyl Is To Push FORK Which In Return Push Release Bearing Disengaging Clutch..(Pedal In Movement)

Once Your Release....(Pedal Out) The Pressure Plate Revert It Back And Engages The Clutch....!
