Assalamu Alaikum is it really important to change the gear oil in Manual cars .one of the mechanics I went to said it does not matter .please advise

Bhai for 1.3 gli you will need 75w90 api gl4 or 5 gear oil, around 2 liters i suppose. Please check manual if you have one. This cannot set you back more than 2000 rs. Waise to mai zic dalwaleta hu apni gaariyo pe, but aisin will be a better option. And your mechanic is a fool if he says nai change karwna hota.

55k itni zada mileage nahi but you can check the gear oil quality if its getting darker or its black, not giving CHIP CHIP feeling or giving any burnt smell then you must go for a gear oil replacement

Yes it is very important. Depends on Transmission type. For 1.3 MT use Toyota genuine 75W90 GL-4. From dealership it costs rs1950+ per litr. From retailers rs1800+

2ltrs are required in 5speed MT Xli/Gli. Dealership charges 800/900rs service charges. Gear oil change intervals 40k-50k kms max.
