Gear rod noise

I bought a used cultus 2002, in neutral gear if I move the stick there is a noise, like something banging against something hollow. Is this voice normal?

One more thing the 4th gear slips, you have to hold it down for the gear to work. This may be unrelated but just wanted to mention this if it may be part of the problem.

A slipped garari may be. Get it opened and checked asap. Either gear can stop working abruptly or if it continues like this u may end up with a long bill of gear repair.

I had the same issue with 5th gear sometime back. It was a busy schedule then so I couldn't go to mechanic and avoided 5th gear. After a couple of weeks when it got worse I went to mechanic and he was like sir ap pehle aajatay tu itna kharcha nahi huta.
