that is the selector cable you are talking about, it connects the floor lever to the gearbox manual valve (mode valve)
the cable Im mentioning goes from the throttle body to the gearbox, its the pressure control cable and if your gearbox is full hydraulic oil school type, it will affect the shift timing too. However if your gearbox is electronic shift type, the cable only controls the "aggression" of the shift while the timing of the shift is commanded by the ECU.
